Ranked Server How to.

Could someone give me a basic run down or a reference of how to start your own Ranked server? Or flame me for not finding it in the search option.

Costs involved, hardware, recommendations. How the system basically works. I'm pretty in the dark here.

You basically have to rent a ranked server from a server provider. There is no way to set up a ranked server on your own hardware. Costs involved are about $3.00 USD and up per player slot.

If you have a company, you have to sign an agreement with EA, from your country, to get a "BF2 Ranked Server License". I'm still waiting for reply from EA :)

So, contact EA from your country, and make up a deal.

from what I understand you also have to supply so many free public servers as well

Yep. No clan-servers can be made with this. But we are a community, actually back from Moh:AA, that signed up a BF2 Community, now wanted a ranked server.

Well you will need to provide 10 public servers 1st, btw there is no such thing as making up a deal with EA, its their way of the highway. :laugh:

Ehm. EA Denmark, Michael Nielsen, told me, that they need a CVR number, and a contact mail to the company. That's all. No word about "provide 10 public servers first".

since when has one part of EA known what the other part does? still remember when the last patch came out one part of their web site said it wont be released for at least 2 more weeks(up dated that day) and the other was giving the download links
