You could probably just move the files, if you alter the registry paths that list where BF2 is installed:Originally posted by Ripsteini just bought a SATA 40 GB harddrive and i dont know if i can just move files such as BF2 and other big files like that to it or do i have to uninstal/reinstal on new hard drive?
Open regedit.exe and find this:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DICE\Battlefield 2(TM)]
and change path listed in InstallDir to the new location.
And in here:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall\{04858915-9F49-4B2A-AED4-DC49A7DE6A7B}]
Change InstallLocation to the new location. This last entry is just the uninstall inforamtion but needed when/if you need to uninstall it. -

Wish I had known that prior to uninstalling and re-installing to my 2nd drive.... But this will help for other projects I have to move.Comment

Re: Sata data transfer?
The new location should reflect your "new" drive's letter assignment.
I am assuming you are not running a RAID.Comment
