How Do You Unlock The L96a1 Sniper?

I have SF and the M95 unlock. I'm over 30,000 pts, and the progress towards next rank is maxed, yet the L96A1 is still locked. So what exactly is required to unlock this thing?

You will get your next unlocks at 50000 points (Sgt. Major).

The way I understood it; once you have the M95 unlock you would have the option to unlock the L96A1....guess I heard wrong?

Only once you have your next rank.

You are correct, the M95 is the required 2nd tier unlock before you can unlock the L96. However, if you have no unlocks scheduled, you're SOL.

When the 1.2 patch got released I had 3 unlocks automagically, and I saved one. A week or two later the p90 and L96 were available, so I got the L96.

Yup...thats when I got screwed I guess. I wonder if this next booster pak will allow for another unlock?

Yes.

They are part of the unlocks that came with SF, so...for those that keep wondering why they cannot unlock the guns, it is because you must have SF to unlock them

I don't think this is true. The patch is required though because the new weapon models came with 1.2 right?

I want to say it has everything to do with your rank but I'm not 100% sure.

The way I understand it is - you need SF to unlock the 1.2 guns, but you can't actually USE those guns in SF, only normal BF2.

Go figure.
