    Turn up gamma or brightness?

Is there anyway to turn up gamma or brightness? I hate going in dark hall wyas and can't see nothing(Ex. Sharqi's stairway at the TV station). Thanks for any help.

If your computer room is facing east, avoid playing in the morning, if it is facing west, avoid playing in the afternoon.

I have brightness and contrast full on my monitor, and that's enough for me to see things in the dark areas.

EDIT: No wait, it's because my video card forces me to have lighting on low and no dynamic lights etc :p.

Bf2 doesnt have brightness controls but the problem you have can be easily solved. The game has pretty complicated use of special shadow and and texture effects.
All you have to do is set the lighting option to low and all should be well with the world.
I have a high end rig and I have all my options set to high except lighting

manually turning up that gamma/brightness on your monitor?
If you can't do that, just download the ATI catalyst (only for ATI cards ofcource) and go to monitor properties, you can change the gamma and brightness there.

if you have an nvidia card, you can also adjust your gamma and brightness in the driver , very simple .

                how I do it,

I have two colour profiles on my pc, one for normal things and work in photoshop and stuff, this is the good color profile

and one for gaming, this is the one with turned up gamma

Re: Turn up gamma or brightness?

Have you ever been outside on a bright day and gone in a badly lit stair well ? I think the stairwell is supposed to be this way. With that said, I dont see any reason why one of the ways mentioned above wont work. Also I wouldnt call this cheating because anyone can do this and you arent really violating any objects phycial properties, such as hideing in a wall or inaccessable building, being able to see through walls, extending your view distance, etc.. I adjusted mine by using a combination of Gamma, brightness, and contrast. I would suggest doing this in lan mode so you can work uninterupted, and wont get killed and lose points. Good luck. . . . .Red

I might also add it doesnt require any extra blocks of code to be added to the program. I would call that cheating too.

                      Going to try that now.

EDIT: Turning it on low works great. I can see in all dark areas.
