Major slowdown issues...

For the past few days I've been having major slowdown issues in BF2. If there isn't much happening around me everything is fine. But for no reason I get major slowdown issues out of nowhere with BF2. Everything gets all laggy and slightly choppy when I look around. This slowdown happens for like 5-10 seconds. Then it'll clear up and be fine for about a minute. Then it'll start doing it again. And repeat.

Anyone else having an issue with this or has had in the past? Like I said this just started only a few days ago and it's getting frustrating.

Hmm, Your specs look good. Check your connection, that could be the problem.

dsl sucks, cable rocks. also get 1.5 - 2.0 gb ram

Hardware looks great. Antivirus running? Firewall? Anything in the task panel? How many large processes are running?

i would suggest making sure PB is up to date at all times. i bet the slowdowns occur when PB attempts to update it self in-game.

No large programs running in the background. I haven't changed anything in the past few weeks and like I said, it just started happening a few days ago. I defragged, ran anti-spyware programs and everything. How could I check to see if it was the connection? Whenever I get the slowdown junk I always have the same ping. (Around the 60's)

I'm playing at high. BUT I put the settings at medium and the same results occured.

yep, gettin the same problem here, game has become basically unplayable for me... it was workin fine and all of a sudden it starts chuggin whenever i play it... no need to go through the specs like a dumbass, THE GAME WAS WORKING FINE BEFORE

are you using a static IP?

sounds strange but i was using static and getting problems.

I changed back to let the IP get assigned auto and the problem was gone.

no idea why but it might be worth giving a go.
