    BF2 Sound quirks.

Ok, I have recently noticed more sounds missing than before. We used to have really cool sounding turrets in tanks and APC's. Now I can barely hear them and they are super directional. I have to turn to one side to hear them. I am using a SB Audigy 2ZS on a P4 3.6 with 3GB ram, but I guess some setting could be fubared.

I a have 5.1 speakers, but have the Creative set to 4.1 for use in-game because the 5.1 does not give the reight audio imaging via my headset.

    Anyone else getting this?

I have really been dealing with sound placement (3d) and 3D audio in the game with my headphones. Just wondering if I need to change something.

No, the broke lots of sound-related stuff with 1.2. I often fail to hear guns, APCs etc whatsoever-like they're all perfectly silenced. I'm pretty sure they know about this bug and with any luck, 1.21 will sort it...

      Re: BF2 Sound quirks.

I always run my game in stereo and always wear my head sets. I have the same sound card you do and a similar setup. Now on the missing sounds, its the new patch. There are a lot of sound bugs (missing sounds, wrong sounds, and sounds that are looped). The worst one for me is no sound when Im getting shot. I have been running along and been killed by something that had been shooting me and I didnt know it because I didnt hear it.
So dont worry its not on your end, its supposed to be addressed (not fixed, but addressed?) in the new patch for the patch. I think its 1.21. . . . . . .Red
