I realy need help with my graphics card

Hi, Ive just recived battlefield 2 as a gift and i get a black screen when i try to run it? Ive searched the forum but cant find anything that will help?

My specs are: cpu 2.8ghz
512mb ram
80gb hd
ati radeon mobility 9200.

I cant find a patch for my graphics card, any help would be appreciated! thanks.

If i recall a 9200 isnt supported by BF2. Id have to look. Upgrade your ram to 1 gig if you can. BF2 is a hog so your card and the amount of ram you have Bf2 wont like it. Ok found the recommend specs to run BF2. Sorry your card isnt supported

The R9200 is supported, all the OP needs to do is head to www.ati.com and download the latest drivers.

True the desktop R9200 is supported but I do not believe that the mobility is.

Google mobility modder, it takes ATI drivers and mods them so they work on mobiles.

alternatively if you don't want to try tweaking the files, try the OmegaDrivers which supports mobility too: http://www.omegadrivers.net

thanks for the help, ill try what you said. i forgot to mention that my graphics card is a 64mb and not 128mb. i dont know if this will make a difference though.

OK this has to do with my graphics card i think, i just got my old graphics card back, radeon 9800 pro 256mb, and when i load battlefield the screen goes black, and then i have to ctrl+alt+delete out and close bf2.

These are my specs:

AMD AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3000+ 1802.1
System Memory 2 gig
Processor Speed 1.8ghrz
Display Device RADEON 9800 SERIES radeon 9800 pro 256mb
DirectX Version 9.0c

the radeon 9200 IS NOT SUPPORTED, but the 1.21 patch will correct things that have made the radeon 9200 not work with the game anyway.

and no mobility cards are supported what so ever, but should still work.

The only times I have encountered a crashed black screen when loading up BF2 are:

1. Not having my network cable plugged into the router,
2. Not being online and
3. Having Logitech keyboard drivers loaded (after the first patch)

I've got the same card, ATI Mobility Radeon 9200. It worked before the 1.2 patch. I believe it's a shader issue. I suggest you wait for the 1.21 patch and see what it does.
