My friend is getting ridiculous in-game performance on the demo

Ok so my friend is planning to get this game and he has been playing the demo for some time now. He says the game runs perfectly no stuttering or anything. its pure smoothness. Is this BS because his setup is as follows:

Dual Core Pentium D 2.8Ghz
2 x 1GB Geil DDR2 533mhz RAM
Radeon X700 256MB 128bit V.card
160GB HD

HIS FREAKING SETTINGS ARE AT:
Resoultion: 1024x768x75 (HIGHEST)
Rest of his setting sincluding Dynamics and lighting are at HIGH
and the thing that gets me most is his AA which is at 4x WAHAHAHA

Is this normal on the demo? does the demo have different performance than what we have now?

maranello once pointed out, yes Demo runs better. I also remember that Demo did run smooth, I get a headache and frequent crashes with the full.

I run full BF2 at all medium 4x AA with an ATI Radeom 9800 pro 128mb and get little or not lag.

but the video card (which i sold to him) is not at all capable of that. so is it just the demo? and will he see a drop in performance when he buys the game and patches it?

I have to run the game 1280*1024 2AA, high-medium-low settings and I got 20fps when there are many ppl or vehicles around me.... I just dont get it a 6800GT should perform MUCH better!!

I run full BF2 at all medium 4x AA with an ATI Radeom 9800 pro 128mb and get little or not lag.

This makes me sick, i run a watercooled overclocked system and my GFX card is a 6800GTGS, and when i started playing this game i got great performance on high. Recently though i've been getting major gfx-lag on medium with no aa. I borrowed another gig of memory off the vampman, and it ran sweet on all high aa etc...

The decrease in performance from when the game was released is marked, and the demo did it's job, to intice us into buying the game with it's promise of smooth gameplay, but it goes to show when this is the only game i can't play maxxed out, how badly optimised the code is.

I have a 6600GT 256mb set @ 1280x1024 all set at med and get an average 55 fps on 64 man server it all depends on the rest of ur system not just ur GFX card

Didn't notice the change, i play full at 1600x1200@75 all settings high and 6x AA (adaptive AA and geometric rendering activiated in catalyst drivers)
I'm looking forward to buy the new ATI X1900, that card supports 16x AA drool drool drool, man thats like 4 times better then the 4xAA now :p :p i want that thing, but i don't think my wallet allows that :p

EDIT: to all players who have ATI cards: download the ATI catalyst drivers, then go to the settings and activate 'geometry instancing' when the map loads the 'geometry' thing it will go way faster :p

EDIT2: i just did a FRAPS benchmarking test during a whole game (while flying) and my average FPS is 44.8, is that good?

I suggest you use that 6800GT as toitet paper and buy an ATI card :p

^ no cards support 16X AA the x1900 goes up to x6 AA it does however go up to 16x Anistropic Filtering

but then again so does an x850 it just wont run it very well lol.

It's pretty safe to say most everything about the game has been down hill since the demo.
