It does exist. I've done it, but it's hard to do. You're pointing at the softest point anyway, so it's the best place to aim.

Mr. Salad makes a good point. You could have gotten 2 or 3 simultaneous hits, but only seemed like one.

There is no way to kill a full-health tank with one AT rocket. Two hits to the treads will take out a tank, and that's the best you can do.

I've been nailed down by one guy hitting me and the driver with one shot... It was alot of smoke etc so I couldn't see where the shot actually hit us :S.

lag effects the accusracy of a round hitting a hit detect box
NO WAY does it give the illusion of NOTY seeing 2 extra AT rounds
2 extra pistol/rifle bullets maybe

I am here as server admin almost all day
and can play whenever

(might be helpful to me if you send a PM of your expected arrival - as I sometimes step away for 30 minutes or so)
