question about AT damage

as EVERY one complains to takes 3-4 AT to take down a tank
why then do I get killed with single shot AT??
yes - full health\
no - not C4
no - not mulitple AT emeny
no - not in hatch, etc

so - my guess is aimbot and or other hack
your thoughts??

I've never been able to get a single shot kill against a full health tank. And I've played AT more than any other kit.

buddy you got pwned by someone who knew what they were doing. having that big metal box on treads under your ass wont make you invincible just a large missle / c4 magnet.

I am sorry but I have played quite a bit as AT and had a lot of tank kills but I have never got a one hit kill on a tank, and I have hit just about everywhere on the tank I could, to see if there was a "sweet spot", one shot kills from an AT rocket with a full health tank are just not possible....there was a vid out that showed a one shot kill if the tank was pointing its main gun straight up and you hit the driver port, in between the hull and the turret, but I never confirmed this since rarely tanks are in that position to be shot.

I did a one shot APC kill last night, done it once before, also once to a tank. There is definately a sweet spot because it happens, don't know were it is though.

lol i have done it a couple of times and i know that at least once the tank had full health, id just jumped out to get a health pack an enemy jumped in, i shot once they went down.. i just think of it as a prezzy for all them times i shot a at and it goes stright through the target lol

Think they hit your treads, man. I know for a fact the tank 1-shot exists. It's a ricochet off of one of the two front panels on top of the tank treads. However, that's tank v tank. AT personnel need to hit the treads for max dmg.

I'm also of the opinion that there are sweet spots on armor vehicles for AT..

I don't know about 1 shot kills on a full health tank/APC tho and find that somewhat hard to believe, but I didn't program BF2 so I'm not going to argue it. What I have noticed however, is when I take an AT hit in a tank/APC, some hits knock my strength down 1/3, while others take me down to 1/2..

Aiming for the front/back of the treads can take the tank down in 2 shots, though it usually takes 3. For a TOW, that will one hit you. From another tank, there IS a one-hit spot.

As for your stary, lag can easily make 2/3 AT shots seem to hit you at once (so it looks like you were only hit by one).
