Some folks at work and I would like to rent a ranked server. We are in Phoenix AZ, USA

With so many choices, I thought a thread like this would help me and others before renting a server.

Pros:
Customer service is excellent and responds to any problems in a timely manner. Low ping on server with little to no lag. We have clan members around the country and in Canada and none of them have lag problems. Price is just right. They also have a lot of packages that include multiple ranked servers plus Teamspeak or Vent servers.

Cons:
Can't think of any offhand.

DO NOT USE http://www.freaks-network.com/... Customer service is SLOW and unresponsive at times. It took us 4 extra days to get 1.2 patched! We are currently looking for good candidates, so keep these suggestions coming...

[TW] goes through them and we have NEVER had a problem. I've contacted them several times and I've always received an almost instant reply. Plus the team is friendly and willing to help explain things rather then just brush you off. One of the best dam support teams I've ever seen other then one will 24/7/365 1800 phone support.

Also, just to add. Our 64 player server was one of the fastest ranked servers up until the 1.2 patch(EA managers are idiots don't give programmers time they need). Last I checked I think our server was ranked 5th for ranked servers. Not sure where its at now.

Your next question should be whether or not a server is truly dedicated to you and you only. You can find all these great prices but you end up stacked onto a server with 6 or more other servers. It may be ok if all aren't running or full but when that happens its lag central.

Also smpm has servers all over the states and the UK. You can chose your location. They have a separate VOIP server so it doesn't lag your own server offering optimal performance. The majority of BF2 servers don't have this and run off the box you are playing on. Also if you go fully dedicated it will cost more than your average server, but it has other benefits. You can run Battle Recorder with ease like we do even on 64 player maps as long as you have separate ftp space to store the BR files. No lag ever! They run the daemon version of BF2CC for admining.

They also have the benefit of being able to run many, many different games other than BF2 and you can switch between them whenever you like.

Overall a great host though they lack a little in customer service which I know they will rectify soon.
