Question about VSync

Will Turning vsync on help my frps? I'm getting about 40-60 when not in combat, however when in combat it can drop down into the mid 20's.
I got a Geforce 6800 p4, 2.5 ghz, with a 450 power supply, and 1 gig of ram.

No, it helps to avoid tearing. Tearing is when you have a horizontal line across your image because the frame is already being redraw while it is being displayed. The top half of your screen will be the new frame, while the bottom half is still the old frame.

Turning it on will lower your framerate.
