P-90 retrospective

Ok Ive spent some time using the P-90 since onur last big discussion about it, and Ive come to a few conclusions.

1. One-on-one, even if you get the drop on an enemy, you are likely to lose.
2. When walking forward sighted in, and using short controlled bursts, the bloom seems to stay just perfectly torso sized.
3. The large magazine capacity makes this best used as a sort of short-ranged support weapon.

Let me explain #3 some more. As an AT guy, your missile launcher is your primary means of doing damage. You specialize in killing vehicles not people. If your working in a good group and massing your fire, the P-90 does just enough damage to take what would be a seriously wounded fleeing enemy and convert him into a corpse.

Example: Last night I was moving with a Spec-ops and a medic, and we encountered some enemy. The medic was reloading at the time and wasnt much help but the spec ops guy started firing shot bursts at them and I did the same, trying to focus on the same target as him. This proved to be a consistintly winning strategy, and because of my mag capacity I could suppress while he reloaded.

WOuld another weapon have worked better? Maybe, particularly that MEC SMG based on the Bizon, but the P-90 did ok here.

I still think it needs tweaking, but I wouldn't write it off as totally useless.

Just wanted to add one more thing to this:

When your picking a kit, dont put so much stock in whats the most effective 1-on-1, think of how you are going to fit into the greater whole of your squad.

The problem is your argument could be used for ANY of the SMGs. The accuracy is slightly better on the P-90, but its damage is the same as the other three and its rate of fire is 2/3 of them.

Seriously, if you are doing good with the P-90, try going back to the other SMGs. Most people get the DAO and abandon the SMGs, but go back and you'll realize that while they are weak, they do get the job done, especially at close range.

And the bigger issue at stake is: Is it worth the unlock over something else? Unless that something else is the SCAR-L, no. :P

Thats the problem. As a tier 2 unlock, the p90 should be way better than the other smgs....just not slightly.
