I still cant seem to down alot of jet with the AA. AA still rubbish, all I get is team damage most of the time. Dont matter if no one is about, somehow they hit friendlies.

Choppers I never had a problem with, before or after the patch. Just more easy now to down. Silly with a .50 cal

      More armour for chopper please.

20% less seeking ability for AA missiles please.

Make missile physics look remotely realistic please.

Make SAM sites take longer to respawn or make them engineer fixable or both please.

Make missiles seek their target instead of locking on to the nearest friendly target that is much further away from the enemy target!

Choppers are hard to hit because obstructions reset the lock, they can still wave off very fast, and there are a LOT of obstructions that can get in the way.

Add that to the fact that a gunner that knows how to use F9 and knows where the AA emplacements are can knock you out immediately. With jets, a lone AA emplacement is a FREE KILL, just dump flares the first time, next time come around and strafe it, congrats, you just blew up the AA site AND killed the guy in it.

In general, with the exception of transport choppers (which are now screwed), you NEED more than one AA site targetting or, if the pilot/gunner are even slightly smart, you won't hit a thing.

A good jet pilot will still dominate. A good attack chopper pilot with a good gunner will still dominate. The difference is that now you actually DO have to be good.
        I agree completely.

helicopters should have a hard time getting through AA barages. there are many ways to still avoid AA, you can't just fly straight anymore. If you're in a helicopter either fly low and fast or very high, there's no middle ground and there shouldn't be any.

As for the AA-vehicles, well, they are AA-vehicles not because they are easily destroyed by aircraft. If you need one killed, get a tank to do it. it's called interdependency aka teamwork.
Can't fly straight anymore? LOL you couldnt fly straight BEFORE the patch and hope to avoid the AA... it wasnt hard before, but you still had to do SOMETHING. Now it's near impossible... and there wasnt any MIDDLE ground before either.... flying high will get you killed as well... used to be safe.... sort of.... now jets and AA will get you anyways unless your so high nobody can see you whatsoever because of the fog. And AA vehicles shouldnt be impossible to kill with ANYTHING... nothing should be IMPOSSIBLE to kill with something else... can infantry kill a tank? Yup. Is it easy for infantry to kill a tank? Not really. Can a chopper kill AA? Yup. But it is EXTREMELY hard to do so now... unless you can sneak up close enouph behind cover. MUCH harder then it would be to kill a tank as infantry.

I'm NOT TALKING ABOUT RANGE DUDE. I'm talking about the lock on 'area' on your screen. The round circle they need to be inside of in order to get/maintain a lock signal. Nothing to do with range. The range is fine.

I'm sorry I didnt do online tests for you. I never said that it was tested information. I'm going by what I've experienced... since the patch, it seems I need to hit the tank with all 8 rockets to kill it... and by tank I mean the MAIN BATTLE TANKS. Nothing else. Not APCs. Did I say that it took all for APCs? NO. Go try it. I bet your wrong... because I've tried hitting a tank with 6 rockets only to have it near death many a times. And dont start yapping about APCs if somebody said tank. A apc is NOT a tank.

actuallly i feel like jet armor has increased..but im not really sure because when i get shot at by jet missiles each one use to do more than half damage..but now i can get hit by 2 AA missiles and havel ike 1 bar of health left..which does lead to me blowing up in a few seconds..but theres always the chance of bailing out

Do you ever fly in choppers? Its most definately MORE then a 1 point drop. I'd bet my life on it. Seriously. I don't know the exact amount, but its more then 1 point... unless the chopper had 2-3 points to begin with lol... which it didnt.

Yeah, has anyone noticed something has gone MAJORLY wrong with the collision detection in this game? It seems that is takes 3 missles to take a jet down becuase one does not register. Also, knives NEVER work. And like 30oughtsix said, it takes 8 rockets to kill a tank becuase 3 dont get detected. I think that the collision detection is the #1 problem that needs fixing.

I know those are the facts, but personally for me it always took 4 FFARs vs APC and 6 (!) FFARs against a tank when I didnt **** up and made a good accurate pass over the tank. Seems that the tanks are a bit more suspective to missing or does the armor placing have an effect on the FFARs just like it does on the AT missiles?

Anyhow, to specify the "lock range reduction", I "think" he didnt mean the range between you and the target but the area on the HUD where the lock-on is maintained.

I dont think that theres anything wrong with the aircraft now. A .50 cal can rip apart a jet, let alone a copter. Most aircraft are not built like a flying tank, however much we all wish they were.

I'm not even referring to that. I'm referring to the complaints in general that it is overpowered, if anything it's harder than ever to get a lock. You're complaining about the lock time being short, when in fact it's actually more difficult than it used to be, and it's STILL not fast enough to catch something that's dropped flares.

And as far as the lock area, what are you talking about? Once the missile's in the air, it doesn't matter where the stinger's pointing, and reducing the lock cone would actually make it EASIER to shoot because you wouldn't be de-targetting from flares as much! You don't think it's actually hard to keep the stinger pointed at a plane, do you?

AA vehicles are perfectly fine. Before they were basically gimped APCs, now they're actually AA vehicles. They were designed for one task, knocking out aircraft, they SHOULD be feared by aircraft! And they are not that hard to take out either, an AT missile or tank shell will knock half of their health off, they have a very high minimum angle so hitting ground targets on any sort of incline is impossible, and they are SLOW (HINT HINT: TV missile).

The "middle ground" you mention regarding the lock does not exist. Either there will be a maneuver you can pull consistently to shake any missile, making them the same useless crap they were in 1.12, or they'll hit every time. What middle ground do you want, missiles to randomly hiccup and miss 30% of the time?

The skill factor is already there, AA sites are as easy to kill as a TOW because they don't move, planes rape them, helicopters rape them if they're paying attention (you should be complaining about humvees anyway), and otherwise everything's working fine.

If you're not still getting 3:1 kill/death with a jet, the problem isn't the AA, the problem is you. If you expect more than 3:1, then you're protesting the fact that something's balanced.

dear author: your post is nice, but form me it is a cry of someone, who are simply not skilled enough with choppers, and having his ass handed

                              1 - mobile AA has 4 missiles, not 6.

2 - jet requires 3 missiles in most situations

3 - AA cannons are still worthless

4 - good chopper pilot wil break lock and rape mobile AA - but yes, mobile AA mercilesly rapes bad pilots - i have ~4 k/d ratio with AA

5 - chopers in many situations needs 3 missiles to score a kill, given long reload time, there is no chance to good pilot dying from single AA emplacement, mostly because, good pilot flies with GUNNER, you know?

6 - if you fly solo, and are decent enough, there is a way of breaking any lock, so even gunner is not needed to survive

7 - i agree on transport helis - they are to weak, but there still is something wrong in chopper surviving a tank hit

8 - jet is almost immune to AA if he flies past it - before you get a lock, he is over you, before missiles hit, he is out of the lock range - missile IS GOING TO MISS when target leaves lock area! lock must be on until target is hit, with jet it is very hard, same with choper that knows how to break the lock with a single tree

9 - i think that situation is fine - good pilots adapted, and they dont complain anymore [im not talking about A2A, this is separate problem, and i think that it is a problem] jet still rape, when manned with skilled crew. bad pilots.. do what bad pilots deserve - die a lot. problem with pre-patch situation was, that even bad pilot raped everyone on the ground.

Re: CONSTRUCTIVE critism about the AA and Aircraft changes since 1.2 patch

AA needed to get some more effective, this is a fact, but now, it's to much .

I still manage to stay in the air with a chopper for a good time, but it's depending of the map, if there is a map with a mobile AA vehicle, there is nothing you can do as a chopper pilot, as an SF player where the maps are somewhat smaller, the nerfed lock range doesn't mather, you get shot down from the other side of the map , or even at spawn .

Also , what I hate, you hear the beep, your drop flares, but then you have 3 possibilitys .

                                - flares don't help, beep stays, and you get shot down anyway
                                - flares put beep away, misiles go to flares, then make a quick turn killing you anyway
                                - or the flares work

the first two are unacceptable for me, flares are there for something and if those don't even work anymore due to aa misiles who can make a 180 degree turn , this is just lame .

the AA misiles should be something between what they where and what they are now , they where to weak, but now there are to effective, and most of all just because they are kinde bugged (flares and stuff just won't work, or misiles go wild and finaly hitting you in the face)

Also, on ghost town, there is a trick, there are some oil wells there, burning, and one of those burning oil wells is about 60m from chopper landing spot, what they do is not lock on to the chopper, but on the flame, misile goes to the flame, then makes his turn (more then 90 degrees) and kills the chopper on spawn , this is just crap
