My Pipe Dream: CTF

Hey guys, first post here but have been lurking for a bit. I wanted to get your thoughts on whether it seems even remotely possible for there to eventually be CTF implemented into BF2. One of the biggest hurdles i suppose would be how to work out the stats system with CTF games, although I think you could so it in pretty much the same way and just add a few categories for CTF specific points (# of flags capped, etc). I guess my small glimmer of hope for this comes from the fact that CTF was pretty big in 1942 and DC. I for one found the most satisfaction playing in some heated CTF games. Also, in the BF2 menu, there is a tab for game type, although it only has the option for Conquest.....am I the only one who wonders why they would stick it there if there are no other options ever coming??

It's possible. I know of several mods that are going to include it as part of their mod.

I agree! We need more CTF players out there. DCON CTF = good fun. There is usually at least one US server with a game going most nights.

I second that. The newer version of it fixes a lot of bugs the initial CTF release had and it's a blast to play. Keep in mind, it's technically a beta of the CTF game mode that is intended to be included with the first full release of Desert Conflict itself, but the coding is all the same, so it's out there to both work out the bugs and give people something new to play. :)

There's a list of servers, since the BF2 default server browser sucks. People generally play in the evenings (I'm in the eastern time zone) if you're looking for people to play with.
