Points should be given for defending uncappables

Don't laugh. I play Oman almost exclusively. When I am MEC I spend a lot of time by the airfield fighting off the hordes of attackers going after assets at the MEC airfield. They come in waves sometimes all game long. It's a great way to get a lot of easy kills, too.

I think points should be rewarded for defending those assets. The attackers get a point (not nearly enough!) for destroying assets so why shouldn't we get points for defending it?

    You know I'm right.

You get 2 points for every kill, and 1 defending point for every kill if they're in the flag cap radius.

You said yourself that the kills are easy, so reap in the 2 point pairs.

As for the assets, you get points for repairing the assets they blew up,

Is it considered "whore-ish" to first let the Spec Ops destroy the assets, kill them, and then repair the damage they've done? Seems like you should get points for defending the assets BEFORE they incur damage.

I dont think you should get points for defending uncaps however if a system was intoduced where everyone got a teamwork point for every minute your team held all flags on the map this might encourage people to defend flags on Karkand/Sharqi...

Rather than all just fighting at the front like a bunch of plebs while one guy sneaks round the back of the map and takes all the key flags. Then we might see some teamwork and people getting better win/loss ratios.

I don't do that. I do everything I can to stop them in their tracks before they destroy anything. The very notion of point whoring that way is offensive to me.

BTW, that was a sweet landing on the carrier yesterday. Boy, you are really good with those jets. Thanks for offering it up to me. I couldn't accept, though. I suck at flying and would have crashed or been shot down in no time.

Heh... thanks, man. I have fun when I'm up there. But everyday around 5-7 PM EST, my internet connection is just terrible. I pay for 8Mbps cable from Comcast and normally ping around 25-40 at MoonGamers. During those peak hours, however, my ping jumps up and down from 40-700 every few seconds. It makes flying nearly impossible.

About the whoring thing... I see people who are injured and could use a med pack. But I wait for them to die because I get +2 points for a revive rather than +1 point for a heal. Is that wrong of me? J/K, btw. I do what I can to get that med pack to them if they're not under fire at the moment.

I dont agree... it is still risky to blow the enemy assets up, what would happen if they were clymored/tankwhored ? BTW why do you need points that badly? just play teh stuped game
