Not quickly, mind you. It should take a little while. That way if he doesn't see the mines or is trucking along at a good clip, he's still vunerable to 'em.

Point is, with the non-blowable upable mines, it would be nice if there was some way to counter 'em better than some shmuck jumping out of his jeep and running into an exposed position to get sniped.

    Whatcha think?
Yuuk! Wargimp I might have to strip you of your sig for that one.

Maybe you could put some hot babes in your sig like me and all the other cool guys.

Yeah bad idea. stop being lazy and hop out....get that trusty wrench , crank crank mines go bye bye. pfft next well have medics driving past dead buddies and auto reviving them without even getting out. how hard is it to really hop out and take care of business?

Some valid points brought up, fer sure.

As I said, the idea just kinda popped into my head 'n I figgured I'd toss it out to see what could be seen.

What actually inspired the thought was a round I played not long ago where I was doing some armour whoring on... er... a map (can't recall the name, ATM. Too much blood in my cafine system). Pass! That's it! Fushe Pass.

Anyway, a squad mate (engie) and I managed to punch through the enemy's rear defences (not a ghey referance) and into the CP closest to their uncappable flag. There we encountered line after line of mines laid down, completely blocking the route in. The mines weren't well placed at all. A one eyed wombat with cateracts could have seen 'em. My engie 'mate didn't know you could disarm mines with the wrench until I told him.

I actually did exactly what was suggested above after I'd explain that, yes, he could get out and disarm them. I pulled up, popped smoke, and let him do his thing. We continued on our way... for about 15 feet before coming to another line of obviously placed mines. Stopped, disarmed, rolled on.

Repeated once more before finally making it into the CP proper... then got bombed. Fark.
        *shrug*

Anyway, this caused the thought to pop into my head. It was a pain to have to sit there while the engie went from mine to mine disarming 'em one at a time.
Specifically, I was thinking that you really should be able to get rid of mines that are so obviously placed without having to waste quite so much time. I didn't like the mines you could blow with explosives since that made it too easy. Thus I started thinking about other ways to disarm/remove mines without making it too easy... and using the repair radius is what came to mind.

Yeah, you'd have to make it enemy mines only. Or maybe have it set via the Mine FF tag. If Mine FF is off, only disarm enemy mines. Full FF, disarms all mines (don't park your tank next to "friendly" mines).

I think a good solid 15 to 20 seconds of being within the repair radious would be needed to disarm.

If you've boxed an enemy vehicle in by placing mines both directly in front and behind him, chances are if he hasen't blown himself up yet, he knows what you've done and isn't planning on moving. He's just gonna jump out and remove 'em with the wrench anyway.

I'm not convinced it's a good idea... but it's an idea.
