Slow and stuttering gameplay

Hello all,

Wondering if anyone can suggest something I can do to sort this problem:

I have an ATI Radeon 9600 256mb card, 1.5gig of ram and a 2.6GHz processor, but cannot get the game to run smooth at all.

I have managed to at least get it to run at a resolution of 1024x768 but am unable to turn up any of the detail options past low or off as the game becomes impossible to play. If I have it at 800x600 it looks rubbish and is still choppy.

Im really stumped because the game works fine on my dads system which is slower than mine and im using his old 9600 so it should all work.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have patched the game to the latest release and am running it with minimal settings at 1024x768.

I checked with the system requirements test website and it says i should be able to run the game no bother.

do you have all the latest drivers and such? any other background processes we should know about?

is your ram all the same type?

Nothing running in background and It's not my ram as I just tried it with one of them out.

I have a feeling its my processor because I have been told celerons are not good for games.

yea..celeron is like the cheap processor...btw wat settings r u playing at?

Celerons do not have enough L2 cache for gaming.

Playing at lowest settings at 1024x768.

I'm getting nowhere with EA's support team.

Looks like I@ll need to get a new cpu. Sigh.

Sorted my problem by upgrading to a P4.

This game has cost me a lot of money so far =)
