IT WORKS! I downloaded it, installed it and then I could play the maps in singleplayer or on my local server. Enjoy some screenshots! :)
Great Wall
Looks like a Chinese map (foggy, lots of hills), doesn't look like it will play well. Notice the new Euro weapons!
Operation Smoke Screen
This map looks really cool. It's really rock and desert-like. The middle is of course the smoke but it's not that bad. You can see normally inside and you can still kind of see from the outside. Lots of windmills.
Taraba Quarry
Well, it's a quarry! It's pretty bland except there's a river and a dam in the middle of it, cutting off both halfs. Will probably be a huge chokepoint.
And there you go, nothing to **** yourself over, like someone below me said. Honestly the maps don't look like they'll be a big hit (like Karkland or Sharqi), and they all require vehicles because of the huge distances. They'll probably be OK to play, like half the current maps are. Great Wall might suck though.
Trip Report #2: 16-Player versions
All 3 maps are a lot better in 16-player. There's no planes and choppers, of course, but the distances are much smaller and the action is more concentrated.
Great Wall of China looks fun in 16-player. All the Chinese spawns are inside, and Eu spawns either outside or up above. There are no vehicles (that I could see), so it's all just running and gunning and hiding behind temples.
Smoke Screen is half as small and both teams are way closer to the smoky area, which is where the action will be, I guess. Quarry is just half the quarry with no river.
