Basic Helicopter Pilot help - please

I thought it was a bad mouse so I went out and got a new Joystick but the same thing happens. Every time I take off in any helo, I go up and as soon as I touch the stick forward, back, left or right the thing flops over and boom. No matter if I'm at 50% or 100% throttle.

    What am I doing wrong?
(besides getting in the stupid thing in the first place)

You need to adjust your control's sensitivities. make them less sensitive, and the controls will feel heavier. good luck.

Forgive me if i misunderstood you, but you only have to barely move the mouse forward enough to bring your nose down. Dont continually move it forward or youll keep heading down. Slight movements in any direction will change your yaw and get you moving. Also you can return the mouse back to its starting position from takeoff to hover.

took me ages to learn to fly - I also went out and bought an expensive joystick, but at the end of the day, mouse and keyboard is best and it simply comes down to lots of practice but you will eventually get the hang of it. The most impotrant thing to remember is to keep your nose down

Copter goes up. down, left and right, it flys in those directions aswell. This is no plane to fly where a stick is handy.
The copter rotor pulls you, a jet pushes you. Aim the rotor where you want to go and give it time- it isnt a jet. Puling back in a copter sends you into a loop which will at its peak will pull you down to earth. If you want to go up let go of everything except w- it will kill your forward speed by default as the rotor is then set to up only. To move forward you must balnace to rotor between up and forward, this is easiest on a keyboard i find. IDealy forward is a 45 degree angle so the rotor acts up and forward but you must keep it balanced!

First KB+mouse is better for flying a chopper
Second sensitivity only matters if u use a mouse

Whichever control system you use it really does just come down to practicing for a good while.
Before long you will be strafing the enemy flags like a pro.
                    Enjoy

Been using KB and mouse since the BF42 demo, ruled with it on DC and now in BF2, I'll never use a joystick that's for sure.
