Reinstall Problem

I've played bf2 since it came out and up till now have had no problems. However a few weeks ago when i went to play online and clicked on a server i got crash to desktop. After I attempted to unistall the unistall progress would say "Installshield is preparing" or something along those lines and then blink green and quit. So I just delted the program file folder for BF2 and SF. Now that those two are gone I can't reinstall for the same reason, it does that one part of the install then blinks green and goes to desktop. When I check add/remove program it says there is still about 12 mb of BF2 and 11mb of SF on my pc somewhere. I've deleted the folder in my doucuments and done several virus and spyware scans even in safe mode. So where do i go from here?
