Back to BF2 after long break...

Hey All, hope you're all well.

After a 2 and a bit month break from BF2 (real life and work got in the way for a while, but I've managed to fix that for a bit... didn't have to kill anyone either...), I'm going to give it another shot tonight. Has the new patch made much of a difference for better or worse? Before my break I was playing BF2:SF exclusively, but was getting rather bored of it and was planning to go back and play BF2 vanilla for a while tonight.

The apparent fixes in the latest patch definately make it tempting.

"Suck it and see", you may like the changes or you may not. There's a few bugs but what's new.

You are not gonna feel familiar with the crouch and prone buttons, that's for sure.

Why's that? I noticed in the release log that they've "solved" the dolphin-diving... definately a good thing. Has this fix had an undesired side effect?

When you prone... you cant just jump or get back up on the same second..

Prone, you get back up after 1 or 2 seconds.

I have no problem with it, but many complained about it taking like 5 minutes to get back up.... I think there just insane.

Yes! For those who actually used the buttons "normally", this has made the move/crouch, move/prone type of play very annoying, as you get "stuck" in a position for a little extra time than you intended. Plus, if anyone with a support weapon shoots anywhere in your general vicinity, you are instantly dead. Oh, and the new sniper rifle will kill you before you even spawn in now. (well, it sure FEELS like it)

If you enjoy missiles going through things more frequently or glitching to where the rocket refuses to fire at all although you see the rocket effect, or if you enjoy PKMs that are as accurate as sniper rifles, or perhaps enemy weapons that don't make any sound or show effects yet you still die from them...yeah, you might enjoy the game now. Otherwise, it's just as sucktacular as ever.

Sorry wish I could help ya. There is absolutely no threads discussing the changes of the new patch either, which is pretty bizarre.

Well...I just flew 2 rounds of Dalian and 2 rounds of Daquing...I was killed by AA (and it was from another jet) only once.

So flying jets is just different now...you need to spend more time taking out AA emplacements and finding other jets before they find you...and if somebody spots a mobile AA..avoid it like the plague.

Blackhawks are as useful as Mi-17 and Z-8s now...they are being used for TRANSPORT!

Sorry Vazquez I try to resist being a repeat thread troll. I hardly never.... I just need it more than cow bell...

Welcome back. and for the record I dig the changes and have been having a lot of fun for the first time as an engineer. Support is lethal. Snipers were given a needed boost. I'm liking it.

Good:evil: The air attack was over powering and now I believe their is a balance to the game with an improved AA and jet firing.

The black hawk was never that good anyway. It might have well been a sunook (The Bus). The attack helicopter has lost some missiles(maybe due to the cut back from Congress), but the gunner still has his weapons and are just fine.
