Can a squad leader set of Artillery ?

I am new but it has just occered to me that when i send out orders as a squad leader, i notice that Artillery is mentioned in the orders ??

i don't understand what you wanna say, but as a squad leader, you can ask the commander for an arti-strike. point your gun on the ground, press and hold T and choose arti-strike... if the commander sees it, he can send a strike - if there is no barrage underway already...

Basically what i meant was, if you hit caps lock, the squad menu comes up, then you right click on an area then the commands come up, at the top is Artillery, I was just wondering if by pressing artillery i would set it off. Your response tells me it wouldn't, all it would do is send a message to the Commander to do it if he/she wishes ?

No, only the commander can do that. what it will do is send a request to the commander for an arty strike there. You can also request supplies and a UAV.

I personally think Artillery is the worst part of the game !! But thx for your responses
