Zone Alarm Connection to Server

Hi, i've found out that, since installing the patch, it takes btw 3 -5 attempts before i can connect to a game server while zone alarm is on. I can connect to account server fine but when i try connecting to a game it hangs and generally ctrl alt del shows game not responding. However this only happens when zone alarm is on.

If i switch off zone alarm and then try it i'm into a game straight away. However I REALLY DONT want to have zone alarm off while playing, just in case! Any suggestions???, I connect through a wireless internet connection, Zone Alarm is set up to allow BF2 internet activity, my PC spec is fine to handle the game.

stange I use zonealarm and don't have any probs with it but then again i'm not on a wireless connection

Updated versions of ZoneAlarm are HIGHLY invasive and can cause problems. If I were you, I'd uninstall entirely and go back to an old version (or forget it altogether).

Yer, i quite like zone alarm, funny thing is, didnt have any problems with it last night, more time will tell, but maybe, just maybe, its fixed itself. Happy Pancake Day!!!

I have ZoneAlarm without an issues. The issue I have is I randomly get DC'd from servers with my new hardware. Hmm.

I also use ZA, the security suite actually. Just make sure you go into your Program Control & set everything BF2 related to "Allow" and you shouldn't have any issues. I've been running it for several years and have never run into a problem that can't be solved w/ a few tweaks.

Using ZA is like having a dog... if you love it, and play with it, and feed it, it will be your best friend & always be protective of your person. :)

I used to use it... use SPF now ... never had any issues since i switched. its free too.
