    Clanless Servers

Maybe a silly question but are there any servers that do not allow clan members in?

Clans spoil the game for me and I'm not interested in joining one. Just want to have fun playing the game.

    many thanks

another lone wolf:) Maybe you should play other games where you could actually have fun by playing all by yourself, such as CSS or FEAR. this game is meant to be played with groups of people. Call them squads, clans, friends, but you have to have at least 5-6 people playing at the same time, in the same squad, in the same team to be able to taste the real BF2 spirit.

He sort of has a point, When I go in a server, even if its just a EA server or not a clan server, if there is 2 clan members I notice usually they hog the attack helicopters, and if someone hops in as gunner, then the pilot whos in the clan tells them to get out then crashes the helicopter, if you try even get near the heli they will tk you, just from my own experiences, but im not basing every clan on that, just some clans I have seen do this, sure its fine after a few times but repeatably just hogging the chopper for every round until they leave annoys alot of people, again im not basing this on every clan just certain clans.

I dont think he is saying he doesn't want teamwork. I think he is saying he hates clans. There are some clans out there that I just despise. I really hate it when a clan takes over a pub server. Usually makes the game very lopsided. Yes they deserve to win because they are using teamwork etc etc...but it is no fun on the opposing team. I try not to play on clan's servers as well because I usually find that they kick for breaking their rules but dont follow the ruleds themselves. That drives me up a wall. I actually had a clan member threaten to kick me for trying to fly the chopper. The quote was "stay out of the chopper or you will be kicked" When that happened I just found another server. So he does have a point about some clans.

lol you dont have to have a clan to do that. jacka$$es are always jacka$$es.

when we go in a different server with TBF2, and say we have 8 people in the same team, and it's a 64 player karkand server, and 8 of us are all at the top of the scoreboard. I see people trying to votekick us for no reason, or calling us noobs

I love it. I do I really do, I love seeing people like that. Can't take it like a men.

            Re: Clanless Servers

And I never allow people in my clan to tell people to get out of the vehicles, or tell them to do stuff. I don't do it in my server, and I don't let my clan members to do it in other servers.

But i see your point, I know what you are talking about. The thing I am trying to say is, there are bunch of people who are not in any clan but yet they do the same thing. You dont have to have 15 clan members to overpopulate the server, or not let you fly the chopper. You can have the same problem if 3 friends are in the same team.

It all comes down to the personality of the player.

Yes Maranello it is fun for you guys when there is eight of you all one team. You all know and practice with one another. When you are on the opposite team it is not so much fun getting owned like that. I know you will say then work as a team....easier said than done with bunch of strangers in a pub server.

That isn't something that bothers me, clans playing in teams is natural, but hogging vehicles all the time is f*cking annoying, I know alot of other people do it but its something I see alot of with clans, I play on a server that is a clan server, the clan members rarely use the choppers together, if one hops in the chopper another random person who isn't in a clan is allowed in. Is it so hard to be considerate to other people playing in the server? I know your not obliged to but its only natural to help out your own team.

I remember I played on quite a few servers, and at the end of the round people have like 60 kills and 2 deaths and like -4 teamwork.

lol, not really when im in a server and if I have the attack heli, and have been using it, and see someone waiting at the hotel point (most likely waiting for me to die so he can try get the chopper before me) so I land and give them it, and I have done this before im not talking out my @ss, also I mostly do switch arounds, ask if they want to be pilot etc.

We don't hog vehicles. In fact people who have played BF2 with us know that we are pure infantry.

there have been cases where we "had to" use APCs or Tanks because the opposing team was whoring them and we had no way of defending ourselves even though we had 6 AT guys at the same time. But other than this, we never even use any vehicles (except humvee to sneak behind enemy lines)

                            Re: Clanless Servers

There are some pretty big generalizations being made here! Clans ruin your game? Gimme a break! It sounds to me like you just don't like losing, and perhaps you just got your a$$ handed to you by a team with a clan squad.

The fact is, this game is designed to reward team play. If I jump onto a public server with a few of my friends and we squad up and stick together we can quickly shift the momentum towards our team. Is it because we have elite skills, or we are hackers? No, it is because we are organized. We invite strangers to join our squad to fill it out. Whe attack and defend as a group, we heal each other, resupply each other and cover each other. If the other team does not have a cohesive squad defending a flag, they don't stand a chance, and we roll right over them. Sure it's frustrating to be on the recieving end of that; we've all been there. Perhaps you should learn from that experience and squad-up. If you can't find a good squad, make your own, and recruit squad mates from the rabble. You'd be surprised how many people will join a squad if they are asked. Use comms and keep your orders updated, and you will find the game much more enjoyable knowing you have backup!

As for the vehicle whoring and other questionable behaviour: that is certainly not the exclusive domain of clans. I have seen far more poor behaviour on servers by people with no tag on their name. Most clans I play with do not indulge in any such nonsense.

When you are playing on a clan's server, you must keep in mind that it is THEIR server, and THEIR rules. If they want their Helo crew to get lots of practice, and they ask you not to use it, respect their wishes. If they make unreasonable rules or abuse their admin powers, just find another server. If they keep that behavior up, they will find their server sits empty more and more.

I think the whole "clan" aspect of this is disturbing. As maranello said, I also boot people for trying to "claim" choppers or any other vehicle for that matter as their own. That stuff has nothing to do with clans. Clan members are'nt the only ones who pull carp like that, and the guys in our clan don't do it period. There are also different types of clans. The clan tag is not the only way to be in a clan. Clans can just be buddies who hang out all the time online. The people who share a clan tag just have another level of dedication.
