I was wondering if it is possibler to make a game that me and my buddy can play a custom map on w/o buy a server

i think you can create your own, but it wont be ranked.

but he can connect over the internet right? and how would i do it? create local game?

ya, do the creat local game. somehwere it should give you an ip address, and just give that to your friend, and on the server list there should be like a connect to ip button, and he can enter your ip from there.

i've never done it in bf2, but im sure its not too different from things like CS and rainbow six where i have.

No, I think you have to run a dedicated and then you both connect to it. You can find it under your start bar wherever you installed BF2.

You can download the unranked server and then add the custom map to play.

with the dedicated server thing, its not showing the custom map could u help please, and what do i set the ip to?
