System req.? Should I install or not?

I've just bought Battlefield 2, but I am having second thoughts actually installing it. My system is as follows: Dell, 8250, 2.4 gHz, 512Ram (RD Ram), 256 MB GeForce FX 5600, 260 Gig harddrive, etc... In everyones opinion, will it be worth playing?

Upgrading the RAM on this system is insane. I think it will take $400 + to get to 1 G of RAM. :cry:

Doom 3 plays fairly well for me.

Just looking for some opinions, before I can't take it back.

Well, first of u will have to play on low settings if u decide not to take it back and if i where i wouldnt as this game is awesome. If u stay away from those 64 player servers ull prolly be good.

ya ull be fine if just stick with low setting. and HOLY CRAP thats expensive for RAM, if u buy off the dell website its $295 US for 512mb

Thanks for the info. I'm still deciding. I really liked the first one, and can just imagine how good the second one is. I'm just afraid I won't get the smoothness and graphic quality it deserves.

That's the main reason no one uses Rambus (RDRAM) any more. It was a bit faster than DDR SDRAM but much more expensive.

The system should run OK on low settings. Hope you're shopping for a new system in the near future though. You can build a decent gaming system for $800 (minus hard drive which you can reuse from old system).
High-end SLI-capable mb, Athlon 64 3700, 2GB DDR2 RAM, GeForce 6600 256MB PCIe (upgradable to dual 7800's later).
