Why Rainbow Six 3 Lockdown Sucks.

Dont get me wrong, I am a fan of Rainbow Six series but they have really screwed up this game. Why you may ask?
    • It is too fluid. Unlike Rainbow Six 3, this has to much movement
    • The AI sucks. I mean on hard, its a 1 shot kill
    • There are unlocks for weapons. I liked the large range of the old weapons
    • The characters dont have the same feel like the old game. Too new
    • The weapons arent fun to shoot.
    • There are no real objectives and its turning out to be a simple fps game rather than an actual anti-terror game
    • The game developers changed staff. Not the same designers so its not the same to begin with
    • I liked the old voices that the old game had. The overseeing officer that gave the debriefing on the last game made it seem as though it were a real mission (if you know what I mean)
    • The fps games no make the graphics the highest priority and make the actual gameplay and storylines the last on the list.
If you feel the same as I do, please post.
If you dont feel the same as I do, please post as well.
If you dont know how you feel on this, please shut up and make up your mind.

Well on a general note I completely agree with your last statement. Haven't tried this game out yet, as the reviews and opinions are everything except positive.

Re: Why Rainbow Six 3 Lockdown Sucks.

After playing the demo there's no way I'd buy it.

Yahoo Games gave it 2 out of 5, but you won't be able to find the review, it 'vanished' within a day.

There are inconsistent physics throughout, which are arguably worse than any physics at all. If you shoot a wine bottle or plastic bucket, it might break or fall over. But plastic garbage bags and wooden chairs are indestructible. In many of the levels, you'll find Ubisoft ads in odd places. I suppose it's borderline believable that an abandoned Paris metro station is festooned with Prince of Persia ads, but it's downright silly that a secret terrorist training camp under the Paris catacombs has been supplied with a few Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter and Splinter Cell posters. Who knew the terrorists were so into Tom Clancy licensed products?
      1Up gave it 4 out of 10

Lockdown is -- at best -- a generic shooter with pretensions at realism. If you really need to down some tangos, you're far better off hunting for previous Rainbow Six games in the bargain bin.

        Here is a review:

        http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/to...&mode=previews

And here is my assesment after the demo (In regards to the article)
have never been impressed with the 'friendly' AI in the game and now it looks like you cant even set up a planning phase. Great! So now I wont even get to plan my teammates to move and open a door...just to watch them stand in the doorway and suck down bullets.

I finally started playing all the other games as single teams of 1 man.... control them until i got set then switched to another. (I cant count how many times my guys would turn to face a wall when they had a long hall way to their backs... only to have an enemy walk up that hall and kill them all)

Unless something staggering is shown in the improvement in AI. I will stick with Q4 / bf2 / or civ 4 (Noteing that q4 and RS (Should i get it) will only be played in single player as I have grown more and more against MP play as the sheer number of dimwited players find the online play features. )

Things that stood out from the article"

Still, we should note that the PC version of Lockdown isn't quite Rainbow Six as you may know it.
And Quake 4 isnt as Rainbow six as I know it either.... So many variable can be placed in the vague description.

The location damage also helps the death animations
Target box hit animations are promising

The artificial intelligence in Lockdown looked a bit flaky at times, but it was fairly solid from what we saw, and the game is still in development,
I doubt it will be any better

While the levels are big, they're not quite as large or as wide open as those found in earlier Rainbow Six games on the PC
        Great... 16 smaller levels...

        three-bar health system.
Ok. Loss for realism fans here (potentially) No more 1 shot kills.

While Lockdown isn't Rainbow Six as PC gamers know it, the good news is that this is a much more serious game than the console versions
takeing a good **** is better than the console version... so weak comparison at best.

Sounds like they could have called it something else but are hoping to csh in on name recognition.

Again... these are simply my opinions. given the fact that I particularly play the games in SP mode. the article seemed focused on the graphical improvements (which are nice) but a gold painted piece of p00p... is still a pice of p00p, despite looking realy nice.

If you look at IGN review, it's completely different when compared to gamespot review.
