Ok, so I am wondering if anyone has any insight on this issue. Or if it is just the way it's supposed to be. I am running patch 1.1.2696-528.0 which I belive is the latest patch no? Also XP SP2.
I have 2x1GB of OCZ Platinum DDR400 that run @ their recommended speed of 2-3-2-5 @ 1T. The rest of my gear is listed in my sig. Now when I load up BF2, and am just in the menu if I alt-tab out to the desktop & check task manager I have 160,000 free memory... but as soon as I drop into the map (single or online) it is dropping to only 70,000 free memory! The only other thing running @ the time is my Zone Alarm Security Suite.
I am running 1280x w/ all High AAx4 settings... but even when I drop it down to Med/Low settings I still have only 90,000 free.
I am not having any/minimal lag issues, and I am almost always the first player into a map... but I just think its a little strange that the game is using so much memory. I am suspect to a possible virus/spyware issue but have done extensive scans with little result. I have cleared out my BF2 cache & uninstalled/reinstalled my video drivers, 81.98, with no difference.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
