Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
the way monlix posted works too...i just posted the steps of what i expected most ppl with the problem to have (uninstalled / reinstall several times) so i didnt expect u guys to still have the old cache files
heres a short 10 step thing that u can do if u dont want to dl the demo If you don’t have the demo you can try this.
1) Make sure you have a version of battlefield 2 installed that isn’t 1.2. (no 1.2)
2) If you do have 1.2 installed, uninstall the whole game and reinstall to version 1.0 or 1.12 (doesn’t matter)
3) Make sure that nothing under the directory C:\Documents and Settings\YourName\My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache is there. Most likely, that directory doesn’t exist, but if it does, delete the folders in the cache folder. (delete the {D7B7… folder(s).
4) Run the game and set the video settings/options to your liking. Then join a server and let it optimize shaders. The invisible building problem shouldn’t be there since you’re not running 1.2 patch.
5) Exit out of the game and go to C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name \My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache\ and there should be 1 file in it. Open the file and there should be about 55ish other files. Copy all of those files and put it somewhere where u wont lose any of them.
6) Now install 1.2 patch
7) Play the game with the newly installed patch and join a server (the video settings should be the same) and let it optimize shaders. The buildings should be invisible again and u shall have major lag, so just exit out of the game
8) Go into the C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache and you will see one folder. GO inside that folder and there should be like 69 files. Delete all of them.
9) Go back to where u had stored the old shader files from step 5 and put them in the C:\Documents and Settings\Your Nmae\My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache\{D97B2J78… folder.
10) run the game again and hopefully it will be fixed
Hope that helps you guys out. I had the same exact problem, worked like a charm...
Only thing is. when i first tried it, the file I replaced didn't work. Just replace all the files except for the one with only one file with the group you're using. Should work after that! Good luck, and happy fragging.
Sounds almost exactly like my specs and i have the same problem. The reason is that with the 1.2 patch his card is unsupported. He, like me, will have to wait for 1.21.
512MB of ram is very little & therefore will cause lagginess & jerks in BF2, plus the GFX card isnt very good either. Get atleast 1GB ram & a better GFX card & u will see an improvement.
3. Delete all temp files. Start run from the start menu, type %temp% and hit enter, delete everything in the folder that comes up.
4. Go to: C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR NAME\My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache and delete every thing inside those folders, nott he folders itselves.

Nah, man.. I had... an ATI RAEDON 9200. There. I admit it. :P
i started playing BF2 with 512mb ram poor performance and lots of lag.I then upgraded to 1 gig ram better performane but still lag and slow load times. now running 2 gig ram it has improved stability of game by 300%.
upgrading your ram to 2gig will reduce lag and increase load times and you will have a more enjoyable game to play ..

this is true only if you exceed 1GB of ram, but not everybody does. this type of blanket statement shows ignorance and knowledge of how computers work. if you are only using 950MB total ram usage, then it won't make a difference if you have 4GB as you are only using 950MB. if your computer idles ~240MB you can still be under 1GB total computer usage @ 1280x1024 with bf2. see my "BF2 Ram Usage" article in my sig. the reason i chose 1280x1024 is because there are so many 17-19" lcds out their and that is their native resolution.
saying that your computer has improved in stabilty by 300% leads me to believe that either your old ram was bad or part of your hdd is having issues as just adding more ram will not create stabilty unless there was a previous problem.
