bf2 1.03 patch no idea what goin on

i just installed the battlefield 2 1.03 patch and when i went to play i got into a game on the internet and for every person i killed or point i recieved i ranked up. i have no idea whats happening. im a gunnery saergent but only have 9047 points. ive tried reistalling and have no idea?
pls help i have no idea whats goin on?????

BF2 is on patch 1.2, how did you even get on a server?? Oh, and Gunnery Sergeant is 8,000 points, so at 9,047 you are where you should be!

its because they adjusted the ranks, now you get a rank with lower points. you already had many points, and because you should have deserved a new rank you get a new rank with 1 kill... (I got 3 then...)
