    Quick AA question.

    I'v just had a complete brain fart. Does AA stand for "anti-air" or "air-to-air"

    air to air is a missle designed to be launched from a jet like the sidewinder missle
    anti-air is ground based for the most part

    AA would be anti-air

      People ususally say A2A when they mean air-to-air.

          AAA (Anti-Air-Artillary), such as mobile AA

          SAM (Surface to Air Missile) such as stinger, gla

          What we all refer to as AA is actually SAMs.

            actually in the early bf2 alpha days, there was a video from kubra dam where they showed off some air vehicles, and when you were locked by someone, the red light said SAM. but they changed it.

              Wish they'd kept it the same. It'd be nice seeing as so many kids play the game to at least be somewhat accurate in terminology, but I know I'm being a doof.
