    Inaccuracy in Anti-Tank weapons...

I have noticed this after I have run out of ammo and switched to the SRAW, Eryx etc... If you shoot a rocket at someone, especially if you hit them at their feet, you do not kill them...

Now im not a Military expert but I believe if you hit someone with a rocket in the legs, their legs would be blown of or they would be killed by the explosion on the ground...Anyone else notice this?

As well as making the AT rockets as buggy as hell, they also nerfed their previous ability to take out infantry like before. The fact they tried to do this is probably why they fluffed the AT animation and rockets completely.

It's AT vs. Tanks that's now the problem.

I mean, sure, it's only 25% of the time that the rockets go through a tank... yet, if you factor that in with the fact that the Anti-Tank rockets are outrageously weak. Also the fact that they are slow, their turning ability is horrible, they don't track Jets or Helos, they are easily avoidable...

...well, it overall makes Anti-Tank basically useless now. I mean, you're weak against infantry, you're weak against vehicles even though it's your job to take them out. Short of an entire squad of Anti-Tank, you're screwed.

Engineer though is the greatest Flag defending class ever. I love that class now. It's great. I'm probably gunna' drop Anti-Tank and just stick with Engineer. It's so much more fun, and you can destory tanks with one mine if you get close enough. Greatness.

while i do agree that at has issues, they are still highly effective vs armor (except when they go through the target) and decently effective vs infantry. armor is a big ass target, and at can easily hug the terrain. at has a huge advantage over tanks.

that being said, i think at missiles should disable tanks, and eng should auto repair tracks from inside.

Although I've seen it occasionally, I have only experienced this problem of rockets traveling through tanks/other vehicles a few times. Not even close to the 25% of the time that you claim.

I didn't quote the percentage as a bonafied' fact there Mr. Man. It was just a general statement to show that it does happen more often than it should.

There is no way to give a concrete percentage on it because I'm not constantly monitoring my Anti-Tank rocket performance, doing so tends to get you killed.

...what I do know though. Everytime I face a tank as Anti-Tank at least ONE of my rockets goes straight through it, or never fires? I get the rocket right back, but I have wasted valuable seconds at that point.

I play AT almost 100% of the time now that the attack copters are flying coffins.

I'd estimate the vorpal rocket effect to be about 10%, though it does seem to spike.

I've found that with the autoshottie unlock, the AT class is pretty good at long and short range.

As far as the original poster's argument, I thought we'd all figured out by now that BF2 is *not* reality, it is a game, and there are going to be a great many differences between it and how things really work. After all, if this was reality, I could float a few miles away in the longbow and kill anybody and anything on the map with impugnity.

The problem you're seeing is probably the AT bug problem. The rocket disappears sometimes a few meters out, leaving just a short trail of smoke. It does NOT go through tanks, I play AT almost all the time, so I know (If you look, sometimes the smoke trail ends before the tank, and you don't reload). If you hit him by his feet or in the leg, it would normally kill him, but you are probably experiencing the disappearing rocket bug that came with the 1.2 patch. However, if you hit the ground near him without the bug, the AT rocket will probably not kill him, as it has a very small splash damage radius.

I've fired AT rounds that have gone through tanks (always from the front or rear, to my recollection), and I've been in a tank where someone's fired at me and it was right on target and nothing happened.

It sucks when my shots are nullified, just as it sucks for other people when their shots against me are nullified. Hope that gets fixed sooner than later.

...and they work just fine on infantry.

Oh, wait, you're still stuck on how in real life a near miss with a rocket would kill somebody.

Well? Guess what? In real life, the guy you're trying to hit with the rocket would shoot you once with just about any gun while you're trying to ready the rocket and you'd not be shooting him with it.

Oh, additionally, in real life, if you used anti-tank rounds to take out solo infantry, your squad leader would probably shoot you himself.

Oh, additionally, in real life, you wouldn't be carrying a rocket launcher, a smg/shotgun, a pistol, 4 reloads for the rl, multiple reloads for the smg/shotgun, multiple reloads for the pistol, wearing body armor, and running and jumping all over the place.

See, when you try to use real life to say how a game should work, you're just shooting yourself in the foot. :-)

Thats right, in real life a round from an AT would blow a piece off a building. I think AT rockets are just fine vs infantry:) I raked in a whole lot of kills with it today.
