No AA selectable in Options/Video

Minor problem, ive got the original battlefront installed. No patches just the original game. Now AA is off and when i click it and the menu drops down theres no X2 X4 X8 where there should be. Just blankness.

Do i need to patch it to be able to choose AA settings?
Which patch should i patch to?

First of all, if you're playing BattleFront, you may want to go to the appropriate forum, this one is for Battlefield 2.

Regarding your question, BF2 will only show you the options that your gfx card can support. If it's not showing any, then your graphics card cannot handle AA.
