Not to be a bastard... but to be a bastard - From that height, hitting that helicopter is pretty easy. Try it yourself, jump out high over an enemy base with vehicles. Hell, try my favourite pasttime:

Go vertically upwards in a plane, then cut the engines.
Wait for the speed to hit 100ish, unless you start looking down, then just jump
Circle around you falling plane, getting out and in as you wish.

you're one of those guys I frequently run over in vehicles because they haven't figured out that you HOLD the E button, and not rapidly press it!

i managed to take a jet up really high, jump out, and then fly back to the spinning out of control jet, get back in, and pull up before it crashed. it only works if you start on your own server though.

That's an awesome video. I wish I had the patience to do something like that.

Another fun thing is going as high as the game will let you in a plane and jumping out. When you get about 3 feet from the ground, deploy parachute and you're perfectly healthy. It's pretty funny to watch.
