I have gotten Special Forces back on release date and I didn't hate it as most of you have, yet it doesn't mean I have played it more then Vinalla BF2. Anyway in Late Dec. BF2 SF stopped working. All BF2 SF servers in do not have the Special forces server Green 2 logo working. It just is not there. When I join a server sometime I can see the map (depends on each time I reinstall. Sometimes It shows on some install and some install it wont show up) Obvoiusly I have reinstalled the game and patch at least 4 times and nothing works. It's nothing I know how to fix. When I try and join games when it gets to 100% it will either say 1 of 2 things.
1: Battlefield 2 SF hates having things modified (I have nothing Modified no hacks and no mods that apply to Special forces.)
2: Crashes to desktop!
I have also reinstalled BF2 SF and BF2 Vinalla and reinstalled the patch to no difference except the error message or a SF map showing in the loading the screen.
