    I'd like a Realistic Blood mod

    Personally, I would like to see a mod where realistic death is portrayed. I like realism in Battlefield 2, such as the Project Reality mod. Sometimes I much rather the normal BF2.

    I like realism sometimes, but other times it gets too much for me, in terms of gameplay.

    However, when I am playing realism mode, I think that the occasional blood splat on the wall, the odd leg flying off, or whatever other disturbing things we all know could eventuate from a war, would be entertaining - for me and many people anyway. Perhaps not for you.

    If every kill was to be animated with the same puff of red dust, it wouldn't be what I am seeking, depending on the weapon you use and where you hit them, would affect the wounded soldier appropriately.

    If you got shot in the leg with a pistol , you would fall to the ground in pain screaming, and depending on your rank, possibly control your pain and keep a level head, - say being able to keep your sight straight or something.

    If you got ran over, your body would be rendered unidentifiable- a literaly mash changing the colour of the vehicle for the rest of the round. Dead bodies should be left to rot on the alley ways. A sniper could take off a head, and another player would see it fly past.

    Helicopters' blades could be an interesting lawnmower.

    Perhaps this is too gruesome for this forum, if it is. I am sorry, please delete. I intend not to offend anyone. It is my opinion that realism of death in terms of animation, randomisation, and consequential gameplay could be the starting idea for an incredibly fun and adult aged mod.

              If the above is what you like too play when you feel like it. Get Red Orchestra for Unreal 2004. {MOD}

              Best realizim ingame to real life.

              Hit boxes on all parts of body. Shoot someone in the arm and he will drop the weapon he is carrying. Shoot someone in the leg and he limps and has reduced speed.
              As Edan said - BF2 engine just not up too this sort of detail. Imagine 64 bodies laying around + another 64 playing - The network bandwidth needed to have this work - Dream on. {Each body is an object - More objects = LAG}

                  this thread is fuppin hillarious:

                  i.e:

                  "is!"
                  "is not!"
                  "is so!"
                  "isn't!"
                  "is!"

                  etc etc
                  personally im with the isnt people-
                  GUYS: do ye not know what it means when a game runs offa different graphical engine?!
                  think of it like this: you're trying to get a Peterbuilt ARTICULATED TRUCK engine (e.g. F.EA.R.-standard graphics) into a MINI!
                  A 3-wheeled Mini!

                  There is a bl;ood spray mod out, quite ok, sure beats the dust puff:)

                  errno, you photoshops are very funny:) especially the Fear+BF2 one. But my fav is the orignial Blood "mod"!

                      Re: I'd like a Realistic Blood mod

                      It's not that possible to make an actual good blood mod with blood on walls and flying limbs, the bf2 is not able to do that properly.

                        Re: I'd like a Realistic Blood mod

                        Hah, blood flying off you in a big cloud = unrealistic as hell

                        Ofcourse that is depending on where you get shot, and with what.

                        For example, if you take a 9mm to the chestplate, your muscles would contract in the shock after the bullet, so you wouldnt start bleeding right the instant it hits, wich means that you would have a nice hole with blood pouring out slowly.

                        Now if we take a rifle round the same thing would pretty much happen, except for blood shooting out your back about 2-3 inches.. and no it wouldnt be the big splatter fest, but a consistent line of blood since that black blood, not the surface cut, but that real black and gooey blood, is very very thick.. oh sure a couple of small drops would fly out in each direction, but still this is not the mystic cloud o doom you would have been dreaming of.

                        Take a bigger round like a .50 cal and sure you would get a mess, body parts scattered lots of blood thickening the air, but all this is not possible to calculate in the BF2 engine as stated above, so all in all, the puff of smoke we have now is pretty realistic, enough for me that is..

                        I am actually amazed that you guys think that what you see in Hollywood movies is realism. So do you also honestly beleive that a gastank blows up if you shoot lead at it?

                              The lead itself will not be hot enough to ignite it, and it wont produce a spark to set it on fire, since lead against any surface wont spark..

                              If you shoot a tracer round at it, it most likely catch fire, you would have to be really lucky in order to achieve explosive results..
