    For better graphics ?

You think that it's better to drop the res a little and turn on AA ? Or push res as high as it can go ?

Right now i run 1280x1029 @70HZ (wont let me run @75 i tried the hack trick )
All high except texture at med.
Also have a new 19" monitor which is for gaming responce time is 8ms (if that helps) DVI. I also have my CPU overlcocked to 2.4 and 800xl overclocked just a little since they suck at OC'in.

I saw another guys screenshots with a 6600 with all high but terrain low dynamic lighting med , 4x AA 1024x768 and the screenshots looked awesome ! Can screenshots be deceiving?

    Thanks in advance.

I dont know what to tell you but to be honest I never really noticed all that much difference with AA turned up.

Personally I'd drop your res to 1024 and turn on 4X AA. Make sure you do it in the BF2 options and not through windows though.

I notice a huge difference with AA turned on.....wouldn't want to play without it.

what difference is there from doing it in windows and doing it ingame?

shurely they both do the same thing.

For some reason it doesn't take affect in-game, unless you force it.

You would think so but a lot of people have trouble if they force the AA settings through windows. Mine looks like garbage unless I only enable AA through BF2.

Its true, only set it up through the game. Also, if you set your graphics drivers (like for me in the catalyst control center) You can make it so that your screen size is actually reduced. For me its called "use centered timings"

I have a 19" LCD that WANTS to run 1280x1024, but I run it at 1280x960 with little black bars at the top and bottom. I have noticed that bf2 runs a little smoother and the pics turn out a little better.

                    I tried

                    1024x760 at 75Hz
                    All high except
                    terrain med
                    lighting med
                    AA 4x

Does look smoother. I havent really noticed any performace hit but i still have to run with FRAPS. I was just going by how the game play felt and it was good.

Are you playing the game to please your eyes? Or to enjoy yourself.

My computer can handle all High with a good 50-60fps constantly, but I prefer having it mostly mediums, with a few highs (like texture, for those plane streaks), and get 90+ fps (80+ fps with Fraps on). AA is on 2x btw, and I really don't see a need to go any higher.

A game is more than just the graphics...

Ok guru's I got a 19", and I got it set on 1280x1024 I got everything on medium except 1 (can't remember which one)on high, so I can see tanks, and planes further out. I got aa on 2x, should I bump it up to 4x, and will it make a huge difference?

                          2x -4x probably not.

AA is essential for me. I can't deal with all the jagged lines without AA.... just looks like crap.
