Tank whore.

So, 5 mins ago I was playing in a server and its the first time I've seen a tank whore as bad as this, his names ''the-gast'' french , anyway started out alright, I blew up the enemies assets and then took their apc, so I went right round to the flags and capped a few flags, not whoring just capping flags that where not surrounded by the enemy, so I asked the commander for a uav, commander was a noob so I got hit by like 4 people with anti-tanks, died then all our flags started getting capped by the enemy, until there was one place we had left ( I was MEC by the way) anyway this dude the-gast was constantly going up and down from spawn to spawn killing everyone off, I died about 6 times from him every time I spawned, worse for my team, there was a ton of kick votes to him but it never passed his team were to *happy* with his good work:

Most of you have seen worse I guess, I just left, it was pointless staying. Anyway usually that server I play in is good with team work etc, thats the reason I play to have fun, help out team etc. But this fool just messed $hit up big time, oh yeah and for the record I hit him several times with the AT but his commander thought it would be better if he put supply crates every time beside him. I don't mind people heli whoring or whatever because thats still using skill, as your threat with stingers. Anyway as a last question anyone or clans out there who have a good server with good team work? based in the U.K or europe, since im tired of this crap, its getting to the stage where you can hardly play on a server.

It can be frustrating this is a fact, but your team should be smart enough to die and come back as engineer for mines or AT , 2 or 3 AT guys take that tank out in 1 sec .

I must admit, sometimes I am a tankwhore myself, sometimes it's just tons of fun .

again, there are possibilities enough in the game to take out tank whores, you have mines, you have C4, you have AT rockets

agreed with rombaft, but holy crap look at his tank ratio: 6,000 kills and 690 deaths. That does sound kinda whoring, but not much you can do about it.

so.....he wasn't actually camping one spawn, he was going between spawns??, I cant see anything wrong with his actions, looks like you are having a cry because you got your ass handed to you fairly and there was nothing you could do about it

I tried, but he kept shooting this one spawn, then his team would come and not capture the flag just go to all the spawns park outside it with a humvee and blast away, but the tank got the most, I ran round to try get away from the tank and get a spawn, because beside the tank were supply crates and troops so really we had no chance. Tank is my favorite vehicle but I don't whore it in that way, I can tell you I have never had 30+ kills with tank, but I admit I did get like 26, just to get the armor ribbon, but if im using tank I at least capp flags and help out my team, not just help myself.

It is trivial to blow up any armour if you have a team working together...we've setup an 'RPG alley' before and never had any armour survive more than about 3 seconds...combine that with the changes in the mines for engineer now and it sounds to more like you didn't have a very good team...3 AT guys (or 2 and an engineer) with a supply guy, armour doesn't stand a chance...Hell even a couple of special ops guys with jeeps can easily keep armour at bay...Just takes a little teamwork.

What do you want the guy to do, stop his tank, climb on top and put his head between his legs so maybe he could kiss his rear goodbye? Get in a good squad and you won't have this problem...

idiot he was moving up 1 meter and reversing, your ignorant take a hike, my ass handed to me? hmm yeah so if we have a proper game with weapons and no vehicle I would have his ass handed to him and yours fool.

No admin there, and my team were lets say working for themself, but thats what I expect from pubbing. Anyway on your last one like I said we only had one flag and were getting spawn raped.

I see the term whoring used a lot on these forums and don't necessarily understand what the issue is? If you like to play armor, then why not play armor all of the time? If you like to play choppers, then play choppers (or whatever you prefer to play). Are you supposed to let armor sit there idle if nobody else is using it, so that someone doesn't call you a tank whore? If there are multiple team mates that like to play armor then share it. When I'm on a map with a good tank driver I'll go engy and be their gunner (hopping out periodically to repair). Now when someone TK's for a vehicle, that is another matter entirely...

As for calling for supply crates to repair/reload your vehicle, I don't see anything wrong or cheap with that tactic. Most of the time people aren't asking the commander for supplies anyway.

Souljah, I do feel your pain though. It is more about being on a bad team than someone using cheap tactics. With a tight team, or even a few solid players, that situation will be stomped out pretty quick anyway. Seems to me that many of the balance complaints on these forums aren't really equipment/kit balance issues at all, but more the product of being on a bad team. If both sides have quality air power and armor power players then things tend to balance out quite nicely.

you don;t use a tank to capture an outpost. You use it to support your infantry and support them.

Agree completely. Air supports armor, armor supports ground troops, and ground troops capture real estate. Basic tactics. On maps with less players I'll use armor to cap flags, but it is largely dangerous and totally foolish against a good (or large) team.
