    Enhancement - Anti-Explosive kit. Thoughts?

    Hello everyone,

Do you think this idea has merit?

Since explosives cannot be destroyed since the new patch, create a new kit specifically designed to balance the use of explosives. The anti-explosive kit could see any kind of enemy explosives via a unique icon and disable them, including c4. In my opinion, the job would be hazardous enough to warrant 2 points for every explosive disabled. For claymores, the kit would allow to see what direction it is facing so it can be approached from the backend to disable.

This should help balance the condition of mines blocking all avenues of escape and claymores/c4 being planted around every flag.

If the idea does have merit, where should it get posted so that the boyz from Dice will see it?

Of course if it doesn't have merit, then I just wasted my time..

    Chime in and debate!

Think of the intel the kit could give as well. Think of the intel a commander could give to the team using this kit as he zooms in and out of the action.

That is the Engineers job, except there is no red x. Try the wrench.

Definitly an engineers job, I do believe the engineer should have more than a wrench and a AT mine. How about some kind of explosives tracking devide. Or something to dismantle explosives. A stupid wrench can't do **** and it detracts from the realism.

Oh and I think MEC should be able to lay less conventional bombs. Like the cellphone bombs and stuff.

Technically allready there (As stated by previous posts)

But you asked for opinions and I will offer a few.

In concept would be like an EOD class of soldier.

Would have to be limited to geting points from removing ENEMY explosives as I could see some idiot running around getting points from removing his teams stuff.

unfortubately while a semi realistic desire to have on the field, it dont see it being added as they encompassed that with the ENG class. (Whihch would require that ability to be removed from the eng to implement in the EOD)

in case you guys haven't noticed... you get the red sign when aproaching a mine/claymore, not c4 unfortunetly... you can disable both wit your wrench.....

Engineer needs a wrench and wire clippers for C-4.

Grenades set off claymores, don't they? Why would an engineer even try to get that close to a claymore?

Where have you been? Grenades don't set off claymores as of 1.2.

But yes, the engineer's wrench does disable claymores...if you can approach it from behind!

                      I have a better idea: Make C4 destroy mines/claymores/C4.

Well that's good to know, of course the times when you really need to disable a claymore chances are it's not facing away from you. I watched as my friend couldn't take the TV Station on Warlord because of 10 claymores on the stairs and balcony. Would be nice if going prone prevented claymores from going off that way Engineers could at least have a chance at disabling them.

I did not know engineers could disable claymores....doh! Good to know! Like some of you already posted, they should have a mechinism to warn them which way a claymore is facing so they can disarm them. If engineers would have wire cutters as suggested for the c4...then that would solve the explosives balance problem. In addition, I think they should get points for disabling explosives considering it is very dangerous work...not only the fact that they could explode but that you are totally vulnerable to enemies while disabling.

How can you tell which is the front and which is the back of a claymore?

the shape and the text that says "this side towards enemy". Of course, if your graphics are turned down too far you really won't notice any of these.
