flight sticks

Recently i have been trying my hand at mastering the fast movers in BF2.
However my progress has been slow and painfull..
I feel my skills could be developed a lot quicker if i used a flightstick instead of keyboard to control aircraft..
Can anyone reccomend a BF2 friendly flightstick ? Cheapish(£40-£50),no fuss,and readily available on the UK market.

I second that Extreme 3D Pro. Much cheaper than most of the high end joysticks, and gets the job done beautifully.

That is, unless you're planning on playing some hardcore flight simulators, in which you might want to change to something more intense.

I say Extreme 3D Pro as well, great stick an it doesn't break the bank.

All Logitechs I used were crap and had calibration issues within a week of use, I use a Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2. $25. :)

Not a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro thats for sure, unless you want to replace it after a couple of months.
Got a Saitek X52 a few weeks ago, wonderful joystick, although a little loose stick (just tighten the spring and it'll be perfect).
If it costs to much for you I would recomend other Saitek joysticks. Heard that they are good.

I've had my Logitech Extreme 3d Pro for almost 8 months now, yet to have a single problem with it and i use it everyday. If it's just for battlefield 2 it's not worth paying the price of the Saitek sticks.

I also second the Logitech. I have had mine for a year without any issues. But I am not a hardcore pilot and only use it for the occasional chopper or plane flight.

Which programs would those be? Could you list them and link them please.

I had 2 Extreme 3d's both go out of calibration.

Logitech Tech Support said to unplug, then plug back in the USB to reset calibration - didn't work.

Tech support said to run their clear calibration utility - didn't work.

Tech support said to remove all Logitech software and reload it - didn't work.

Tech support said to return my joysticks for possible replacement - I tossed them and bought Saitek.

The ONLY thing that works is a patch program called DXTweak2 found Here

Overall I'd rate the Wingman Extreme 3d a 3/10. It has a great feel to it and the buttons are well placed. The movement is smooth and fluid. If you don't mind using a program to re-calibrate it every month or so it's a great joystick.

Which Saitek did you get? Ive been having the calibration problems with logitechs also and have been eyeing the cyborg evo, or a Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2 if I can find a new one at a decent price still.

Lowest ive been able to still find it new so far is $50 and im also concerned that its discontinued by Microsoft.

Anyone have the cyborg evo and know if theres any calibration issues with it?
