    unclear on mods....

    Hey guys,
I will list my questions because it will make it easier:
1)Surely playing with a mod will bring up the "unmodified content" error?

2)Surely people could just make a mod for themselves and make all the weapons super powerful?

3)similar to number 2--surely people could do anything and play against un-modded players and whip thier arse?

Both client AND server have to be running the same mod. So I can't create a super-kill-mod and play on an ordinary vBF2 server, that vBF2 server would also have to be running the same super-kill-mod, and therefore everyone else also would be running it.

'Unmodified content error' is normally associated to a patch that hasn't woked properly. The server checks your local files, finds a problem (file mismatch) and gives you the error.

A proper mod should install into it's own folder and not modify any of the BF2 files so you can always be safe knowig that a mod shouldn't break anything.

If you modded BF2 - you wouldn't be able to play online. Simple as.

Mods such as Project Reality, Forgotten Hope 2 etc all are seperate mods.

If you look in your BF2 folder (in program files) you'll see "Mods" in here is Bf2 and any other mods. So, the BF2 content counts as a mod, in the simplest sense.
