New Weapons laying around

I just started playing the game after a 4 month hiatus (been busy with the 360) and i have noticed that there are new weaopns in some of the packs that i pick up off the ground. I also see the weapons when i select my class, but it looks like they are locked. Is this from the special forces expansion pack? I thought that SF was going to be kind of a separate game you played on SF maps with SF weapons. I didnt think they would be able to play with regular BF2 players on original maps. I think its pretty cool though how i have been able to pick up the weapons and use them.

Or are these weapons from the Euro force expansion pack? I didnt think that was out just yet.

Some weapons you'll be offered when you achieve new ranks, some you'll only get if you buy SF and soon there'll be more new ones if you buy the Euro addon.
And you should keep quiet about console gaming.

Those are weapons from SF (5 guns) and EF (2 guns that actually were introduced with 1.2 patch as long as your rank is at least seargent I believe). And you don't have to buy SF. Just log in to your account and play one round on a machine that has SF installed. Just remember you have to have vanilla unlock selected first for that class before you can select SF one.
