There are still 504 servers running patch 1.12 so you'd still be able to play.

Personally I just couldn't imagine it. Very few of the bugs affect me and getting kicked from every second server because of teammates driving over my mines would be too much to take :)

I've not experienced any bugs. Let alone anything that would lead me to roll back. Are people just being a little tempermental? Or are people really having game crippling bugs?

For me with the relatively seemless gameplay I"m having it just makes me think people are being a little princess pea about this.

Nope, since I dont have spec-forces, I don't have any game breakers. Just some minor irritants that are insignificant compared with invulnerable aircraft and noob-toobing bunnyhoppers.

to those who don't think there are a lot of bugs in 1.2, why do u think EA would release a 1.21 so soon after releasing 1.2?
I'm gonna keep playin 1.12 with my friends untill 1.21 comes out, and hopefully they will fix SOME of the bugs and have LESS new bugs appear in the game.

there are tens of thousands of players on 1.2 and a few hundred on 1.12, so do the maths and see what % of people have show stopping bugs with the new patch

The reason they are releasing a hotfix so soon is the same reason EVERY other game and piece of software does. its impossible to test software on the hundreds of millions of different combinations of hardware/software that makes up the modern P.C and sure bugs have been introduced, but for most people (NOT noob toobers and plane base-rapers) the POSITIVE improvements vastly outweigh the negative bugs.... see the player numbers for reference

A lot of players rather deal with the bugs than "uninstall->reinstall(with a cd version, ouch)->dl the 1.12 patch again if they have deleted it->patch". Some of my friends and I was motivated by others for days before we rolled back to 1.12.(I stopped playing for a while after 1.2 came out).
ur explaination for hotfix doesn't convince me because BF2 have had only 1 hotfix so far before this one, and it's a problem has nothing to do with how many testers there were(memory leak, every single machine). Nor did I see any other games release "hotfix" quite often. A hotfix is a emergency patch to fix bugs that affect gameplay greatly. Anything minor or "bearable" by the players can wait untill the next scheduled patch.

Sure there are bugs. But, there are also lots of benefits. Besides your limiting your game playing by not moving forward on new revs.

Yeah 1.2 has problems, but its not that big of a deal. i can make due until the next rev comes around the resolve those issues.

Go and install HL2 and watch as it downloads 20+ hotfixes for bugs it introduced in the patch before..... oh and it was delayed over a year for them to fix it before release as well....... Then re-install windows XP and watch it download 100's of them.

You seriously think that people havent rolled back because they cant be bother to download the old patch and re-install the game..... get real, its because MOST people are happy with the new patch even with some minor bugs :laugh: :laugh:

If you worked in the software development field you would see how laughable your posts are about how this game is different to any other piece of software, beta test dont mean squat its only after mass release you get enough matching feedback to fix problems.

FYI, not any patch is called a "hotfix". those patches for HL2 or Windows are regular patches. there are so many of them because they just patch more often(plus u reinstalled to version 1.0 so u have to reinstall all the patches what do u expect, DUH) the reason they delayed HL2 was because the leaked version, not bugs.
If u think every1 just enjoyed 1.2 patch so much, then u r as blind as EA as they posted the "very positive feedback" news earlier on. and MINOR bugs? please. were you even reading the posts stating the new bugs? let alone there are plenty of old bugs unfixed.
I dont need to work in the software development field to understand that a emergency patch is meant to fix urgent bugs that will jeopardise the gameplay.

More people are playing BF2 since 1.2 came out than before it.

All polls @ EA UK forums, BF2s.com, TotalBF21 and PlanetBattlefield indicate that over 60% of the members on each forum are happy with the patch (but would like a hotfix to correct a coupld of things).

People like you are in the minority. I'm not saying you should be ignored but you'll have to face up the the reality that while all of us hope that 1.21 fixes what *needs* to be fixed (e.g. the 2 broken maps in SF) then we'll be back to normal fragging again :)
