Purple Heart: Honour or Humiliation?

Since i dont play bf2 very often i always try to plan in advance what awards i'm gonna try to get (no not by padding but by proper gameplay).
Tomorrow i'm finally going gaming again and i've been thinking about the Purple Heart. But i cant really decide if its a good award or not...
I mean... Getting killed 20 times on purpose seems very stupid to me and you cant really get this medal without stat padding. And i dont like stat padding...
Can i hear some opinions about this? And please dont just try to defend yourselves if you've already got it? Is this a very cool medal to get or is it just a lame thing that people with tiny stats (like me) use to fill out their medal space?

why do you need medals always asking my self .. its alot of ********, just play because of the fun instead of getting some lame virtuale medal

i don't know why anyone would want this medal, its a reward for being crap! , the only possible reason for wanting it is just because "wow i've got a medal!" but again this medal is a reward for getting killed loads whilst not killing many enemies, my advice .... don't bother!

I wouldn't try to get it either. One day you'll probably have a really bad round and just get it without trying.

You can have it easily without stat padding, just stand in the middle of the street on Karkand or Warlord 20 times and run circles like a headless chicken.

and make 5 kills afterwards.....should be no problem

I don't have it, and I don't want it on purpose......maybe someday by accident.

I don't see it as a humiliation, just bad luck

Get it !!!
I've always like the name and look of it.
Thought about getting it myself, but by just running around with my pistol as I need another 200ish pistol kills to qualify for expert pistol.
As for other people thinking I'm crap for having it, I'm probably the only person that looks at my stats, and dont give a rats arse what anyone else thinks. :)

I actually got it without attempting to...twice. Karkand and Dalian's Warehouses are great for getting killed by Tanks/APCs as soon as you spawn.

Unfortunately my stats. say I have only recieved one. :cry:

I thought about getting it on purpose. Hell its a stupid award, easy to get, and if you suck at Battlefield, it'll be even easier.

Last night I played as commander and hopped in the AT turret on Dalian Plant just so I could get the award for it. Whats the problem with that?

As for the Purple Heart. Figured I have a little fun by getting it, why not let the other team get some free kills....

I don't consider it stats-padding if you join a server and fly a heli for 15 mins just to get an award....

With 1.2, there is no way in hell you can fly it around without getting shot down. Just take the bitch up to as high as it can go and hover till you get the award.

I think its the stats sites that cause the problem, BF2 doesnt actually tell how or why you got an award just that you got it and whilst the power of the internet means we all know how to get what i dont think the awards system was meant to become the shopping list it is.

Purple Heart i earned honestly, i knew things werent going well that round and i found it ammusing to recieve an award for it. Easy enough to get when being seriously spawn raped by a team.

get 1 kill then 5 deaths, and 1 kill then another 5 deaths until you're 5:20 so it wont give you a bad death streak

I had a really bad night and got mine. Couldn't stay alive to save myself. It's not that bad of a medal... just means you had a bad day.

The Purple Heart was established by General George Washington at Newburgh, New York on 7 August 1782 during the Revolutionary War.
