Running forward then diving prone =100% accuracy while diving?

I had a strange situation today was playing on Karkand and was an MEC medic with ak101. I think the guy in question was using the support variant of the G36 the one with dual drums.

Anyway 3 times in a row I spotted him first was already prone started firing and hitting him and he turned towards me dived and before he hit the ground I was dead with no sound of return fire. It wasn't that he hit the ground and then started firing I was already dead each time as I saw him diving. I've tried the weapon he was using and can't see how he could be so accurate every time using the same tactic.

Has anybody else experienced the killed mid dive attack?

eh..I have been shot to dead with 1 shot. Actually the guy shot 3round burst, but I was dead before I heard 3 shots. Dunno if this is lag or just the bad netcode BF2 has :P
Random deaths like this and yours occur all the time in BF2. I like to call it "99% luck and 1% skill game"

The dive is an animation and has no effect on game play...while you see him diving he is already on the ground in his view.

Yup, have it happen to me on occasion with the PKM's when I run into a player who can use it well. I can't replicate what they're doing and I'm very suprised/impressed that they can do it. If anyone out there wants to shed some light on this it would be great.

Oh and just so you know the PKM is a one shot kill to the head which is what I'm thinking is happening. but the MG36 I believe is 2 shots to the head. Anyways, comments and thoughts would be good.

You may have 'died with no sound of return fire' due to the lovely bug the patch introduced, the 'no-sound' bug. This means that sometimes, you won't hear certain weapon sounds. Lovely when you casually walk around a corner and die to a silent APC cannon shot to the face, when if sounds were working you would have heard all the shots it was making beforehand...etc..

Good pc ? No lag ? Good ping ? All of the above ?

Could be a lot of things, I've done and seen it done to people. It's highly unlikely for them to be using an anti recoil hack and this happens a lot with the support guns.

No my PC is capable of running BF2 fine, it was on a server giving me a 34ms ping on average too.

It could be a number of things or a combination I suppose. I'm not accusing him of cheating I just wondered if I was missing a "trick" to how he was beating me consistently with what I consider an inferior accuracy weapon for the situation.
