    D-Day Style? Why Not...

A long long time ago.. in some Quake 2 mod called D-Day... there was an interesting feature that could be an interesting mod or python script for BF2.

On D-Day the game allows class limiters.. what's that? it's a feature that only allows certain number of snipers, medics, etc...

On that way, the game assing on petition the certain classes to the players (on D-day was "the first to click the class selection", but it could be improved, like based on ranks or something like that.. I dont know.

Now that ABR system is on the air (http://www.battlefieldranking.net) it could be possible to insert a mod like this on an Alternative Ranking system so the people can play this alternate game mod.. It could be interesting.

Well.. that was my suggestion if somebody knows about python or modding.

This does not sound like a mod idea to me. It sounds like an option that could be available on the server side. It would be nice if EA/DICE could use work with the peeps from BF2 and make RCON work for a change. It is so glitchy and this idea of yours could work through an admin program.

the ROE don't allow for class restrictions. Now for modded unranked servers, that's a different story. I seriously doubt any mods are gonna gather enough of a following to fill up even one 64 player server until maybe another year or so. As for the idea itself, it's been done in other games, namely TFC.

TFC is king. I can't wait for FF and TF2, whenever they come out. Btw, kind of ot. Do you think TF2 has uncanny similiarities with BF2? Or atleast the version that was shown around years ago by valve. I think the BF series really gave valve a kick in the balls which is why no one cares about TF anymore and why TF2 is perpetually in limbo.

we are playing on my clan unranked server, well, ABR ranked; we have 42 slots server full all day.. ABR made the magic for us (because there is no Ranked Server rentals on my country); now we can play Proyect Reality MOD RANKED on ABR .. that's an example; so if somebody creates a mod like the described on the first post, it could be ranked an popular on ABR system.

I coppied and pasted this from another thread becouse you seem to be in the same frame of mind as me. I find myself looking for a game i cant find.

I like it all medic. It gets to my point that bf2 seems to be targeted at kids. I would pay $200 dollars for a "complex" adult combat game.

The phrase, "build it and they will come" bounces around my head when i think of my dream pc game. After all, this is a pc game, not a console game. Lets get some depth and strategy to make skill the name of the game.

              3 man tank crew?
points awarded for following orders, teamwork.
Point scoring based on skill (i kill a tank on foot is more points than tank vs tank)(squad teamwork to take out armor is squad bonus kill points, squad bonus if they do it while following orders such as defending a location, not neccesserily a flag)
Death has to be a bigger issue within the game. Note:to die is a big deal

We should expect more from developers.
              weather, time generator
graphical realism, blood- screaming"momma" "my God, my God!" "kill them all"
emotion hud like the t button
              dynamic voice
skins and face generator based on webcam technology.
controlling your unit with skill =being able to do "moves" like in madden "hand to hand combat"

Screw class restrictions, I paid money for this game I should be able to choose what class I want to play when I want to play it.

This thread is not for suggesting a new change on future patch to ea.. is for a GAME MOD or something like that, if you dont want to play such thing, dont play it kidd'o--
