DAO-12, Jackhammer, or G3?

Which unlock is the definite must have out of these? I use the AT a lot but I've been trying to break away and fill a different roll. Also, if I purchase the Special Forces expansion pack would I get unlocks for all of the kits that I've already unlocked? Will booster pack unlocks be available in regular BF2 maps as well?

As much as I love the JackHammer, go for the DAO-12 the best upgrade of all 3.

Edit: Booster pack unlocks WILL NOT be used in regular BF2 maps

Only the P90 and the L96 will be the new unlocks. Anyways, i would say the G3, the G3 is just totally L33T now that EA bumped it up. If no tthe G3, the DAO-12, it's great for replacing the AT SMG. And if u wana consider any other unlocks, think about the PKM, that thing is like a G3 with unlimited ammo now (and a bit slower rate of fire).

Personally I say the G3 (despite the fact that I'm at pretty often). Though majority of people will say DAO simply due to its awsome power.

Thanks for the quick responses! I think I already have the PKM (it's the support unlock for regular BF2 right?). I've been really wanting the G3 for e a looong time but as I said earlier I've been known to play a lot of AT.

If u play a lot of AT just get the DAO then. It's a HUGE upgrade for teh AT class, but DON"T get the P90 after, that thing just plain out sux.

Me being an ATer, I would choose the DAO, it is a HUGE improvement over the SMGs at shorter ranges, so you won't ever regret unlocking it. Plus, it comes with a rocket launcher for longer ranges, which I really like. I also love the G3, especially since it has been significantly improved after the patch. It works great for assault, now that EA got rid of all the noobtubing. The Jackhammer works great if you like CQB a lot, but if you play engineer only in vehicles, I wouldn't recommend it. Actually I prefer the DAO in CQB, however, some like the Jackhammer better.

Overall-
1. DAO

+Preferred CQB shotgun for most people, huge improvement over SMGs, reloads by bullet (if you like it)
- Reloads by bullet (if you hate it), not great at medium ranges (not that the SMG was any better, though)

2. G3

+ Awesome power, great accuracy, arguably the best assault rifle in 1.2
- 20rd. clip, not many magazines

3. Jackhammer

+ More damage than DAO, full-auto fire
- Almost half the clip size of the DAO, no good medium or long range weapons, very long reload time

The DAO-12 is awesome and if you play AT even a bit then its well worth the upgrade, after some practice its the only gun in the game that can take out a whole squad with one clip (plus fastest reload as its one shell at a time)

I play exclusively AT and its makes the class so much more fun and rounded as you can deal with anything with the DAO-12.

As for the SF unlocks you get the same AMOUNT of unlocks as you already have, you dont need to unlock the same class weapons as you have in vannilla, which is useful as you unlock the different guns for the kits you still have basic weapons for, i.e it you have 4 unlocks you can unlock the other 3 kits SF weapons and have one kit with all 3 unlocks.... if that makes sense to you

So the Euro Forces unlocks won't be available in regular BF2 maps? What the hell is the point of the booster pack... those weapons and vehicles only exist on 3 maps.. meh.

The Euro Force maps can be played on vanila server map rotations, think of it as increasing the content of the original game not liek a conventional expansion.... but lets get back on-topic there are lots of threads about the xpacks ....

Still say DAO-12 and get the SF assault unlock (F2000) instead of the G3

i havnt experimented w the g3 since patch but it could be great

Actually, AT smgs dont suck so much now. I've been using the base weapons a lot recently, and the only one I detest to is the China smg (type 85). Try is out......


Plus take a look at the leaderboards for SMG.... they're pathetic, I got 4 kills with P90 in a short 16 player round, and got bumped up about 250 places in the world. Booyah.

Well...I say whatever class you use most. If it was up to me, either the g3 or the dao. The jackhammer is...ok, but the pump shotguns are perfectly fine for the engineers.

Its incredibly deadly if you know what you are doing.
