Not sure about claymores but 5 is correct for landmines. Well atleast it was 5 pre 1.2 who knows now.

I know landmines is 5. I thought claymores was only 2...but...I've never tried placing more than the 2 given to a sniper at one time lol...so can't say for sure

did a test
3 claymore at a time
(had to get more from a supply box)
as I laid more, the others disappeared
do not play sniper much
was just curius
hope I am not wrong :P

5 for both, if you get hold of a supply crate you can have as many mines and claymore out as a spec ops with c4s

come on rombaft it's an honest question, ex. if he's laying down mines in karkand, you need to know the number because you don't want your other mines to disappear at crucial points where you laid them earlier

its not his fault its dices for removing destroyable explosives, on a side note, c4 should be destoryable aswell.

well hmm........then imagine a sniper in the tv tower in sharqi peninsula with 5 claymore spread out around the flag area

your going to have to fight thru the initial 5 via suicide while the reinforcements come in from the top flights to kill the people who are assaulting the flag

dunno what dice was thinking on this one.

I honestly loved how it was before with the claymore tkilling and mines tkilling vehicles

I'm guessing that the motor doesn't make the difference between AT mines and claymores.

We asked that AT mines be altered so that they wouldn't lead to tks and punishes and kicks from servers and EA changed it it was testd by the beta testers and approved.

The claymore abuse is a result of that change and maybe wasn't spotted in beta testing as it isn't a bug but a gameplay change (not even an exploit) since 1.2 was introduced.
Making claymores behave pre-1.2 and AT mines post-1.2 may have meant extra coding = extra delay so wasn't accpeted?

The entire concept of claymores in this game is ridiculous. I was in the army for 4 years and you know what? claymores are detonated munitions, not landmines as they are commonly known. you stick a blasting cap in them with a blasting wire (electrical) and you run aways off and then can attach a clacker that will send an electrical pulse through the wire and set off the blasting cap thus exploding the "mine". CLAYMORES IRL DO NOT GO OFF BY THEMSELVES. Not only that, but claymores have like a 100 meter kill radious because they are nothing more than a plastic casing with filled with C4 and have a bunch of steel ball bearings plastered to the front of it. so why are we all complaining about these things? we should all be highly ticked off at DICE for even feeding us this stupid unrealistic crap.
