Ok I'll give it a try right now. I also use 81.98 right now.

Right now: 3DMark 2006 at 2351 (average of 3 consecutive tests).
Will post later on about results both in 3DMarks and BF2.

my fps has stayed at the same average 37.5 max 75 due to me vsync locked at that. But i have noticed the outstanding quality in image & better still i have no stuttering in the game which im very pleased of, thanks for sharing this driver with us. See my system specs in sig.

Would be nice if the OP could provide b4 and after benchmark results instead of giving a % with no sort of reference... such as 3dmark scores before and after.

Ok I just used 3DMark06... and now I get 2470...
            That's a net +5%.

Now I shall try BF2 and check wether I can put back my AA on or not...

Dont know FPS in battlefield but Ill keep you posted. Im running a NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX Overclocked so I dont know if the performance boost had something to do with it.

I may give this one a go...TRU rates it lower than 81.98v2 which seems to be their best rated driver set...

The patch just screwed my computer over in general. It's back to 82.12 BETA which, for me, seems to work the best. So far at least. With a 6600GT.

                    There is a 83.90 32 bit/int and a 83.90 32 bit/eng.

I have a amd athalon 3200+ processor and a Nvidia 6800GT vid card.

I have rig with a Asus V9999 Ultra Deluxe (nv 6800 Ultra) and a P4 3.2 with 2Gb of Corsair XLow Latency RAM. A pretty good rig for BF2.

Before 1.2 : I put everything to High and add a sprinkle of x2 AA and it plays like a charm...

After 1.2 : game start to lag and stutter after some minutes up to a point where you can't play anymore (far less pilot anything).

I tried all kind of drivers, WHQL, Asus, NVidia, tweaked from Guru3D, lowered all setting to Medium. Only by lowering settings to Medium did I get any improvement but never up to the smoothness and FPS I had before (75... because of my LCD display & vertical Sync). Then I remove AA.... AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH LOVELY !!!! It was back to its usual pre 1.2 smoothness. I put back all settings on High but without AA and I still enjoyed high FPS nearly as good as before.

I even uninstalled BF2, defraged the HD, updated BIOS, updated everything up to my baby girl pampers firmware and my wife silk stockings drivers, reinstalled BF2 with full 1. patch but to no avail....

Thus I can only advise you to try it. You have lag and stuttering graphics ? Yeah ? You got AA activated ? try to turn it off. It did the trick for me and will do until EA/Dice fix the crap they did with 1.2.

                      My own two eurocents ;-)

                      Yours,

OK I give up What is AA

Oh yeah, installing these without a backup of your comp is suicide. Besides, has anyone done a scan to see if it's a custom trojan horse? I mean, people use home-brewed drivers for linux, but you're still trusting someone you can't hold accountable.

So is there any definitive answer here? I seem to get performance increases with every new beta driver set for Nvidia.

Unfortunately its hard to tell if you guys are getting net gains due to dolts like the guy at the top of this page throwing on his caps lock and spamming unsupported horse$hit.

Anyone see substantial gains besides the thread starter?

how can i install the drivers without Windows automatically reinstalling the old ones before i get a chance to put the new ones in? i uninstall, reboot, old drivers install, run some Driver Cleaner, still the old ones install. all i could do was install the new ones over the old ones and in my experience, that just makes hybrids which doesn't work properly...

Windows should ask if you want to install them, it should never automatically install the old ones. You're allowing it to somewhere along the line.
